CHINA SPRING MIDDLE SCHOOL is a dynamic, thriving learning environment for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students located in the China Spring Independent School District, a suburban district northwest of Waco, TX. Each and every member of the staff at China Spring Middle School is committed to the belief that all children can learn. Opportunities abound on the middle school campus to master the basic skills, develop thinking and problem-solving skills, and realize that each child is unique with their own potential.
There are 360 students enrolled at the middle school with approximately 60 administrators,teachers, and support staff. The staff is not only committed to providing quality education for the students of China Spring Middle School, but you will also find these individuals serving in various leadership roles of local charities and coaching various recreational
Thanks to a successful bond election passed in the fall of 1998, CSISD finds itself with a flurry of buildings projects going on in the district. The middle school will find the 6th grade moving to the new Intermediate School in the 2000 - 2001 school year and China Spring Middle School becoming a 7th and 8th grade facility. New to the middle school will be a state-of-the-art media center complete with the latest in technology and accelerated reader programs. Extensive remodeling is currently in progress for the campus, which once served as the high school for the district.

The summer of 1999 saw the addition of 24 new IMAC computers to the Apple Lab ~ a lab which is available to the entire campus. The other computer lab ~ for 8th grade TECHNOLOGY instruction ~ is equipped with Macintosh computers. Both labs have Internet access and when not being used for instruction are available to the students and staff of China Spring Middle School.
The school day begins with a tutorial period at 7:30 am where a student can receive additional help from his or her teachers followed by the traditional seven-period day. Staggered lunch periods for each grade are provided.
Our school is also very fortunate to have a dedicated PTA that provides the school with a strong parental support system. This caring group of individuals provide luncheons for our faculty; recognize our teachers during various times of the year; and provide funds for each class to take a field trip in the spring. Some of the places visited in the past include the State Capital in Austin, the Science Place Museum and Omni Theatre in Fort Worth, various zoos in the area, Six Flags over Texas, Strecker Museum, the oldest continuously operated museum; the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame; and the Governor Bill and Vara Daniels Historic Village to name a few. A group of 7th and 8th graders, who raise their own funds, has also traveled to Washington D.C. each summer for the past few years with teachers and parents acting as chaperones.
