Review 1 (4.5 Nuts Out Of 5)

Young Bleed-My Balls And My Word REVIEW No question, this is the best C-Loc album yet. This is HOT!!!! Ya Herd Ma? Young Bleed has kinda slow style of rappin which most of the time I hate! But when he raps, it sounds good, plus he's a nolimit soldier and wit C-Loc, 2 hott SouthSide record companys. let me get right to the point, BEST SONGS ON ALBUM!!!! "Bring The Noise" wit Mystikal and MasterP, very tight, nice beat and nice lyrics. "Times So hard" feat.Fiend, and MasterP, nice song, kool beat, kinna sad, but its very good song to listen to! "GhostRider" , solo song, VERY VERY BOUTIT BOUTIT, it got the MICHEAL MYERS beat to it!! With some hype ass lyrics. and of course, one of the best NoLimit/C-Loc songs ever put out, "How Ya Do Dat" feat. This is a party song, BOUTIT BEAT, BOUTIT LYRICS, TIGHT video thats out with it!! This is a good album. I gives 4 1/2 mics out of 5 being the best. If u aint gotit, go gets it ASAP!!!!!

OK. Now, those of you who are fans of Master P are probably already familiar with Young Bleed- his "How Ya Do Dat" (based on his earlier regional hit, "Act A Fool") was a highlight of the I'm Bout It soundtrack. In other words, he's part of that No Limit hip hop crew from the Deep South which seems to hit number one with every release despite the fact that 95% of the nation has never even heard of them. Inside the lavish computer-generated cover lies the type of fluid, lazy tracks that would provide a perfect backdrop for cruising the humid streets of Young Bleed's native Baton Rouge, LA. Over this moody music and well-programmed drums, Young Bleed and his fellow No Limit artists drop the usual mix of sexism, violence, drug references, materialistic dreams and tales of ghetto hardship. It's simply a case of giving the people what they want, and there actually are some great moments- like in the opening of "Better Than (the) Last Time" when the hook kicks in under the line "All I want for Christmas is 12 gold teeth." For what he's attempting, Young Bleed certainly succeeds.

"...Bleed is an MC who raps in a heavy thick drawl of the Bayou....The production found here is a top notch concoction of trunk-rattling beats, slinky basslines, swirling keyboards and eerie strings..." The Source  3/98, p.190

4 (out of 5) - "...With the music and sound effects of MY BALLS AND MY WORD having the chilling feel of swampy mysticism, this may be Bleed's crippling potion for doomed intruders everywhere." Rap Pages  4/98, p.119

I Have In This World, Are..." My Balls And My Word.

Personnel: Young Bleed, Master P., Lucky Knuckles, Lee Tyme, Maxminelli, Mystikal, Fiend, C-Loc, Laylow (rap).

Producers include: N. (Happy) Perez, Pimp C, KLC, Mo B. Dick, Craig B.

Southside is the territory, and the C-Loc label has it locked. With his debut release ALL I HAVE IN THIS WORLD, ARE MY BALLS AND MY WORD, Young Bleed sets out to prove that he is an integral part of the C-Loc family. With the label's low profile and a little help from NoLimit Record's Master P, Young Bleed uses his circumstances to his advantage and kicks raw street ethics to bring his brand of gangsta rap to the mainstream.

The production is haunting and evocative, probably the most suitable for this type of lyrical content. It stands in sharp contrast to the sample-heavy beats of most contemporary hip-hop. And instead of employing a gaggle of media-drenched production heavyweights, Young Bleed keeps it in the family, with only one producer (Happy) responsible for the majority of the album.
