The Girl Who Wanted a Brother Named Arion
by D'arby Rose

Once upon a time, there was a girl named D'arby. She wanted a brother very, very, very bad. One day, she went to her mother and asked, "Mom, can I have a brother named Arion?"

Her mother said, "I'm sorry, daughter, but we can't give you a brother named Arion, even though it's almost your birthday."

And D'arby said, "I wish I could have a brother named Arion because that was one of my dreams, to have a brother." And then she got ready for school. When she got to school, she remembered that all of her best friends had a brother, so she asked all of her friends, "Can I have your brother? Because I know you have a brother."

They said, "Sorry."

On the bus, everyone was talking about their brothers, so when she got home, she stomped upstairs to her room. That night, when she went to bed, while her mom and dad were watching the championship baseball game, before her mom came up, she wished to have a brother the next morning.

The next morning she woke up. Sleeping by her bed was a boy named Arion. D'arby said, "Who are you?"

Arion said, "I'm your new brother. I came from the sky."

"Oh my gosh, I finally have a brother now! Do you think I should tell my mom and dad?"

He said, "Hmmm...sure. Give it a try."

She went downstairs and went to her parents and said, "Mom! Dad! I want to show you someone! Will you come upstairs so I can show you?" Her mom and dad came upstairs and when they got in her room, they were amazed by the boy in her room named Arion.

Her mother was very, very shocked. Her mother said, "Daughter! How did you get this boy?"

D'arby said, "Um, well, last night, while you guys were watching the rest of the championship baseball game, before you came up to give me a hug and a kiss, I actually wished to have a brother named Arion."

Her parents said, "Well, I guess that's okay. Um, sure."

"Thanks, Mom and Dad! I love you very much!"

And they lived happily ever after.
