Just look for the reservoir entrance just up the hill from downtown Alcova , follow signs to the boat club. The Casper Boat Club is a honest to goodness yacht club with bar, restaurant, slips, sea walls, docks, beach/swimming area, great camping sites and hot showers. Don't miss this one!

July 17 and 18, 1999 Aspen Open Thirty First Annual Aspen Open Regatta . The Aspen Yacht Club (AYC) is located Ruedi Reservoir is about 18 miles up the Frying Pan River Road from the town of Basalt, Colorado. It is also about 45 minutes from the town of Aspen and about 40 minutes from Glenwood Springs where the hot springs pool is located.

The lake is about five miles long and 1/2 - 3/4 mile wide. Water temperature is about 65 degrees. The wind usually starts around 11:00 am it ranges from light to medium and medium-plus later in the afternoon.

The Party and Dinner Saturday evening is not to be missed. Probably the best Saturday night to be had all racing season.

The AYC facilities include portable toilets, small club house with wood stove, non-potable running water, lawn camping area, almost flat RV areas (no hook-ups), sand volleyball court, great spectator area out on "the point" and large camp fire area where many songs are sung and lies are told. The club also has sandy beach, great launch ramp, rigging docks and sea walls to tie up to and some slips may be available.
