Golden Hill, Maryland March ___ 1917 The Fourth Assistanct Postmaster General Division of Rural Mails Washington, D.C. Sir: We the undersigned patrons of Golden Hill Postoffice living on the road between Golden Hill and Lakesville have been informed that your department intends to change Star Route 13231 from Wingate to Cambridge so that there will be no mail service between Golden Hill and Lakesville postoffice a distance of over eight miles. The daily mail has been delivered to use by the Star Route carrier for many years, and this change will work great hardship to nearly two hundred people unless some provision is made for a daily delivery to us. We, therefore, residents along the before mentioned road between Golden Hill and Lakesville do petition you to establish a free delivery from Golden Hill to Linas road, a point five miles from Golden Hill and three and a half miles from Lakesville. Respectfully,
Lingan T. SPICER Jefferson PAUL William J. KEENE Lonnie GORE Charles W. HUBBARD Guy R. BRADSHAW W.G. SHENTON Sr Laney MOORE William A. BROWN John K. BRADSHAW Lincon STAFFORD John T. HARRIS John H.
