This is a very simple single crochet stitch pattern.
You use regular 4 ply type yarn and H crochet hook (or any). There is no guage to worry about.
To begin, simply decide where you want to put it. Make a foundation chain the width of your location (or length if you want the stripes to run vertically). Leave an 8" tail of yarn at the beginning and end of the chain. Break off yarn. Begin at the right hand side of each row. Leave 8" tail. Work sc row across. Break off leaving an 8" tail. Every 3 rows, tie the 3 tails into a knot close to blanket side.
Work in some type of regular pattern or just randomly use up leftover yarn.
For mine, I crocheted 12 rows of hot pink. That made 4 knots at the side when you tied the 3 strands together in overhand knot.
I used black, lavendar, white for other sections. One row of each, then tied together on the ends.
You can make any pattern you want.
SPECIAL NOTE:
It is VERY easy for the sides of this to get uneven. Be careful when making your sc stitches to keep them even. Check every few rows.
You can use this for queen size blankets, full, baby, or rugs, place mats, etc.
Coming soon....Crochet butterfly pillows in 4 ply yarn with size H hook. Or use baby yarn and B hook for child's purse, potholders, etc. Or switch to crochet cotton and steel hook size 5 or so to make fridge magnets, t-shirt appliques, sachets or baby toys with the same pattern. For you seamstresses, print the pieces. Then add seam allowance and follow the crochet sewing directions to make the same things.
