Dr. Thomas B Antrim, a physician and farmer was born June 30, 1814, in Clinton County, Ohio. and was the youngest of four children of Thomas and Rachel (Jenkins) Antrim, natives of Virginia, and of Irish and Welsh descent. Dr. Antrim left his native State when he was six years of age, he came with his parents to Wayne County, Ind, and remained about sixteen years, then moved to Wabash County and then to Jasper County in 1853,were he has since remained, and has a good farm of eighty acres. December 27th, 1838. he married Lucinda W Massey, anativeof this state, which union was favored with eight children- Rebecca J, Rachel E, Mahlon F, William D, Milton F, James F, George B, and Sarah C,. Dr. Antrim's earliest and strongest predilection was for the practice of medicine. He did much reading in his youth and after marriage he applied himself thoroughly to the study of his chosen profession. He was a truly a self-made man. He was formely a whig having given his first vote to Henry Clay; after-ward he became identified with the Anti-slavery party, and he was a conductor on unerground railroad. He was an earnest Republican; and was elected Justice of the Peace in 1882 in this county.
