BASNEY

Charles BASNEY, 1907 - 1987 and Phebe BASNEY, 1888 - 1984 Both appeared to have died in Petoskey according to SSDI.  Does anyone know anything about this couple? BENNER

Seeking any information on Joseph BENNER. Born March 30, 1842 in Waterloo Co., Ontario. As of 1896, he was reported to be living in Petoskey. His father was Jacob BENNER, born August 25, 1808 in Lancaster Co., PA and moved to Waterloo Co., Ontario in 1825 where he was engaged in blacksmithing and then as a saw and woolen mill operator and farmer. Other children of Jacob BENNER and Nancy BEAR were: Maria, Catharine, John, William, and Victoria.  Thanks!.

Searching for death/burial records for my GG-Grandparents Benjamin Page (Paige) BENNETT and Rebecca Ann (MOORE).  Benjamin was born in Halifax, N.S. in May, 1837; Rebecca was born in Indiana in Sept. 1841.  Their four children were Selindon (aka Sam) born 1870, Mary C. (aka Minnie) born 1873 later married John TURNER, Gavenia (aka Dama or Dammie) born 1874 later married John WRIGHT, and William Ewart born 6 Sept. 1877.
  Last record is 1900 census showing Rebecca living on her own property in Harbor Springs, MI (purchased for $80 from Jane RAUKERT of Plymouth IN) and Benjamin boarding on the Donald McKAY farm in Marion City, Osceola County, MI.  (McKAY also from Nova Scotia).  Any clues greatly appreciated!!

Working on the book the DESCENDANTS OF STEPHEN CUMMIN(GS)S (5) 1736 to about 1815. He was born 13 Dec 1736 in Attelboro, Mass and resided in Coventry, RI then Pownal, VT where he served in the American Revolution then removed to Pittsfield, New Lisbon, Otsego Co., New York where he probably died around 1815. He was the son of Abraham Jr. (4) Abraham (3) John (2) Isaac of Topsfield, Mass. 1630 (1) Many descendants removed to Erie and Stueben Co., NY then to Michigan. Have located his descendants in the following Michigan County: EMMET. Have more than 5,000 descendants of this CUMMINGS family in a data-base and will be happy to share. They had a farm on the bluff and raised their children there. Christian DETTWILER, and his brother Abraham DETTWILER came from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada I would guess in the Mid to late 1800's. He and his wife Susan Ries JOHNSON had several children among them my great grandmother Jorilla, (Julia) and they lived in Brutus, Emmet Co., MI. Christian and his brother were Mennonites. Looking for any information on Ralph Robert EMBODY/EMBODEN (born in Petoskey 1890 or 1893) he was convicted of statutory rape in Middleville and sent to prison 4/1924 and served 7 years in a Jackson Prison. He married my grandmother Gertrude Westbrook ALLEN in 1909 or 1908 in Middleville, Mi. They had (5) children before he was sent to prison, she divorced him shortly after. Also, any info on the adoptive parents of my grandmother Gertrude. They lived in Middleville in 1910 they are Thomas Robert ALLEN of Ireland and Susan ALLEN of Mi. He was born in 1845 and she in 1851. These are approx dates.

Seeking any information about the family of Henry D. HEMINGWAY/HEMENWAY, b. 1863 OH, son of Fisher HEMINGWAY born c. 1820 NY and Catherine CHAMBERS b. 1830. PA.
Henry D. HEMINGWAY m. Eliza ELSWORTH in Ohio. Their children were Maude. b. 1889; Nate b. 1892; and Cute (sic) b. 1895, who was born in Emmet County, Michigan.
In 1900, Henry D. owned land in Springvale, Emmet County. Henry D. died in 1917 and is buried in Epsilon Cemetery, Emmet County. Nate died in 1910 at Carp Lake, Emmet County, at age 16.
Maude married William HORTON in Emmet County, Michigan c. 1910 and lived in Petoskey in 1917. What became of Maude HEMINGWAY HORTON? What became of Cute HEMINGWAY? Eliza ELSWORTH HEMINGWAY, the wife of Henry D., and both daughters were alive when Henry D. died in 1917.

LEE

I'm looking for the death and birth dates of H. Burr LEE and Cora LEE who resided in Petoskey, MI. My great grandfather died in the early '50s and his wife died within a couple of years. According to my Grandfather, Clyde Embury LEE, who passed away in 1962, and my father, Charles W. LEE, also deceased, 1980, my GGrandfather died of smoke inhalation due to smoking in bed at the age of 90. I would appreciate any help in locating information about them. Their sons, Hebert LEE, Richard LEE, and Edson LEE, who were allegedly born in Petoskey, also. Can't verify this since they are all dead and I do not know their place of demise or if there are any living relatives. Thanks.
