Return
again, return again;
Return
to the home of your soul.
Return
again, return again;
Return
to the home of your soul.
Return
to what you are;
Return
to who you are;
Return
to where you are born and re-born again…
This song has special significance to me, for West Palm Beach is not only
where I was
born, but it’s
where I was re-born as well. Because I was born here and our family used
to
vacation here
over the years when my dad was in the Air Force, West Palm Beach has
always held a
special place in my heart, though I have only lived here for a total of
six years.
Four separate times in my life, between the ages of 16 and 38, I lived
in the Port St.
Lucie/Fort
Pierce area in St. Lucie County, which is a one-hour drive north of West
Palm Beach.
During my residence in St. Lucie County, almost all of the TV stations
and
news came out
of Palm Beach County. In that time, West Palm Beach was always
like a golden
city of light just over the horizon beyond eyesight. That’s how special
this area has
always seemed to me.
In my present life I have been re-born three times. Once when I was
16, again when I was 29,
and once more
when I was 39. Each of these re-births or major shifts in perception,
whether
forced on me
out of necessity or out of a personal desire for growth, have involved
an
expansion of
my peace of mind. I suppose I may experience future re-births in
this life before
I make my passage
into the arms of eternity. The thought of strengthening my faith,
learning to trust
more, & deepening my peace of mind is more appealing to me than mere
words can say.
Return again,
return again;
Return to
the home of your soul.
Return again,
return again;
Return to
the home of your soul.
Return to what
you are;
Return to
who you are;
Return to
where you are born and re-born again.
Not only
have I returned to where I was born and re-born again, I have
returned to
the home of my soul.
