Idiots On Unicycles

Unicycle Kite Flying ?

So you like unicycling and kite-flying ? What do you do ? The weather is great, the wind just right - unicycle or kite fly ? The easy answer is both ! The answer maybe easy but the physical practice is somewhat harder, we had a go just to find out what would happen:

Ouch Rockin'
No, vern try two legs on the unicycle. Trying to stay on the track. Not easy.

I'm doing it, I'm doing it ! Smack my fish up !
The full monty: here you can clearly see a kite, not just a couple of strings baby. Well, honestly vern, you might as well have the uni on your head !

Gear:

Yeah, so it looks cool. What do I need ? A Uni & Some Kites. We were flying a slice out of vern's kite collection: a 10' flexifoil, stacked with a 6'. Flexifoils are undoubtedly cool, and you can get some tremendous forces to pull your arms out of your sockets.

Technique:

Well you've got two possible choices here:

1) Get on the Uni, take the kites off a friend whose flying them for you

2) Fly your kites and try and mount the Uni.

The truth is neither are particularly successful, and although it looks as though I'm doing rather better than vern in the above picks, the sad truth is the camera got the split second when I was on and the split second where vern was off ? Would I recommend Uni kite flying ? Erm, yes in a weird way, but kite flying with moving objects that you can 'free wheel' (like buggies) is possibly easier. Uni kite flying is like having tow motion machines for the sake of it - like driving a car whilst sitting on a motorbike (if this is at all possible)

MUni kiteflying ? You've got to be joking, I'd rather go back to a normal life!
