L: Lift your eyes to the Lord!
C: The Lord is our help.
L: The Lord has built this House of God.
C: May the peace of God be within these walls.
L: This is the House of God and we are God's people.
C: May the love of God flow through us to bless this
community and bring others to the saving knowledge
of Jesus Christ.
Declaration of Purpose:
Pastor Derr: Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is a day
of rejoicing. We have come together to consecrate this building
of Trinity United Methodist Church, Danville.
God has enabled us to build an expanded ministry center
for Christian education, fellowship, worship and recreation,
that will bring the love of Jesus Christ to people in new ways
that will free them from bondage and heal their soul's disease.
Presentation of the Building: Richard Poole Inc.: We present this building
to be consecrated for the worship of God
and the service of all people.
Consecration:
Pastor Derr: Dear friends, rejoice that God so moved our hearts
that this facility has been built for holy purposes:
to expand God's Church and extend Christ's Kingdom.
Let us now consecrate this expanded facility for service
and celebrate its holy use.
Sharon Sidorov: We praise God for the vision and grace that
has sustained us during this project. We thank God for those
who by their gifts and service have united to fulfill the purpose
for which this building is prepared. We bless God for the
privilege of having a part in building a ministry center that
will transmit and interpret truth to successive generations
and fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus to
make Disciples of Christ.
Marlin Hummel: We give thanks for the wisdom and skill given
to all who labored on this project: both building professionals
and volunteers from this congregation. Now we ask that God,
who imparted grace to all who labored here, will now
fill this place with His glory, that the Creator
and not the creation would be worshipped and adored.
Greg Pierce: To God who has given so much to us, including
this facility to educate children about Jesus,
engage youth for Christ, encourage adults to spiritual maturity,
and empower seniors with Christian service; we now consecrate this
ministry center. We also consecrate ourselves to be holy and
living sacrifices; and our gifts to God's service,
that God's church may continue to expand,
and Christ's Kingdom may be further extended
to the glory of God.
Pastor Derr: Now, 0 God, sanctify this place with your glory;
and fill us with your love.
Congregation: Yes! Sanctify this place with your glory,
and fill us with your love, to the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord.
