The top photograph is an attacking male marsh hawk (northern harrier). He has been fighting with another male because there were too many for the available territory. That is why his wings and tail are so tattered. The silhouette of the female can be seen in the sky above him.

The middle photograph is the same hawk,taken earlier when he wasn't as badly tattered.

The bird in the bottom image is a red tail hawk.
