Chapter One

Two months later. November 28, 2001

Justin and Kim were on the couch kissing.

"When do you think they are coming up for air?" Chris asked.

"They aren't. They've been doing that for the last ten minutes." JC told him.

Chris and JC's head turned to the side when Justin's head turned to the side. "Damn that must be some kiss." Chris laughed.

"I think it's disgusting. Kim has the flu, which she caught from me, and he's kissing her like that? That's just gross, man."

Both of their heads turned to the opposite side when Justin's did. "They aren't kissing JC. They are having mouth sex. He is so in love with her he can care less about how sick she is."

JC turned and looked over at his crazy friend. He then shook his head and looked back at the two on the couch. "JUSTIN, YOU ARE GOING TO GET SOOOO SICK!"

Justin didn't hear a word he said, he just deepened the kiss with his tongue, if possible.

"They are in love they don't care what happens to them now. As long as they have each other, everything is peachy."

Their heads turned to the other side.

"Yeah I understand that Chris. They are PERFECT for each other, but we will PERFECTLY be out of work if Justin doesn't get into the studio and work on his tracks for the CD." JC felt a little out of place because Kim and Justin seemed to just need personal time together. He hated to interrupt them, but had to. "JUSTIN, I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME! YOU BETTER GET GOING MAN! YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO BE AT THE STUDIO FIVE MINUTES AGO!"

Justin heard what he said and knew it was true. He broke away from Kim's mouth with a loud smack. He put his forehead against her forehead. "They are making me go." He smiled. "Sweetie, you are so hot. Are you sure your okay?"

"I have the flu, but I feel pretty good. Especially after that kiss you just gave me."

He kissed her hot forehead, then cheek, then lips. "Okay I'm going to get going. I'll get you something to eat on my way home...some soup or something." He stood up and fixed his jacket. "JC, you and Chris BETTER take good care of her. Do WHATEVER she asks!" He pointed directly at the both of them.

Kim coughed and then sneezed.

"Those are some cool sneaks you got, J." Chris told him.

He nodded and looked at Kim. "Kim got them for me. Bless you."

Justin realized that he was chewing something. He used his fingers and took a piece a gum out of his mouth. "Oh. Here. You want your gum back, baby?"

She sneezed and took her gum back into her mouth. Justin rubbed her nose and kissed it. Then he kissed her lips. When JC noticed he wasn't making any effort to break away, he walked over to him. "No way! Not again. You have WORK to do JUSTIN." He pulled Justin away from Kim's lips and towards the door.

"See how they are?" Justin asked laughing when Chris joined the pushing. "You guys better take good care of her. I'm serious." He was personally saddened he could not stay home and take care of her himself.

"We will." Chris said pushing him out of the door. "Now go."

"TAKE CARE, BABY GIRL, AND GET WELL!" Justin shouted as they closed his own home door in his face.

JC put a kitchen towel over his mouth and nose and took a seat next to Kim on the couch. When Kim coughed he closed his eyes and cringed. "Do you need anything?" He asked. His voice was muffled by the towel.

Kim pulled the loose comforter she had, up around her upper body. "Am I that horrible to be around? Are you so afraid of me that you have to cover up your face so you won't have to breath the same air as me?"

Her voice was weak and somewhat choppy because of the flem crowding her throat.

"No, Kim. I just don't want to get sick again." He kept the towel to his face.

Kim sat up quickly and punched him in the arm. "I told you JC. Last week I told you, NOT to be hanging around me, I knew you were going to make me sick too."

She violently coughed and started to hawk up raw mucus. She walked from the couch and walked into the bathroom, where she took care of the problem.

When she walked back out into the living room onto the couch, JC was in the same position with the towel over his face. He started to shake his head. "Justin is going to get so sick. I mean he was just sitting here deep throating you, for ten minutes. He is going to get so sick. Ew and that is so nasty."

Kim mumbled as she covered back up in the comforter. "If I'm so nasty to be around, why don't you just leave me alone then, k?" She closed her eyes as an attempt to get some sleep.

He got up from the couch. "Okay, I will. If you need anything, PLEASE let me or Chris know.

He walked away and joined Chris who was in the kitchen preparing something for him to eat. "You know what? Even when she's sick, Kim is still the hottest girl I ever saw. Opps did I say that? Well, she's getting married now, so I can talk about how beautiful she is right?"

Chris jumped up and down for a few seconds for no reason.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Chris? You are so weird."

He shrugged. "I don't know. I had to let the energy go somehow. Oh, and you cannot talk about how beautiful Kim is, or what a great body she has, because NOW is a worse time to do that than ever. Justin will break your nose. He is more protective then ever when it comes to Kim, because she will be his WIFE one day. You can say "Oh Kim is soooo beautiful." After they are married. That's when anything anyone says to them really just goes in one ear and goes out the other. Haha."

JC laughed with him. "Ohhhh I got ya." He winked and crunched on a chip. "But I just don't understand how a human could be so perfect and beautiful. He is so lucky."

"I know what you mean, but we have to back off. That's the last thing we need right now. A fight between the guys of Nsync because they all like Justin's girl...haha."

"Yeah haha. They are love birds though. They are so lovey dovey it's sickening."

They both were laughing, but stopped when Kim walked into the kitchen. She didn't look so good. A hint of green shown in her face, through her deep tan.

"Do you need something? Do you need help with anything." Chris asked.

"I...need some Coke. I just got through throwing up and I'm going to throw up again if I don't get some Coke."

She gagged once and then held her throat, trying to settle herself.

JC grabbed a glass and handed it to Chris, who took a Coke from the freshly stocked refrigerator. He opened the cold soda and poured some of it in the glass. Just when they thought they made perfect timing they both turned around to see Kim getting sick in the sink. She didn't even make it into the bathroom.

JC walked up to her. "THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS? ACK!" He took one look at the contents in the sink and he was so grossed out he ran to the bathroom himself.

Chris rubbed her back and had the Coke in hand. "Don't mind JC...he has a weak stomach. Actually he's just a straight up wuss. He likes chick movies and everything."

She slowly stood up strait. "I feel so bad." She turned the water on to wash everything down the sink. "I just feel like crap." She sniffed really hard to keep her nose from dripping.

Chris put the glass of soda to her hand. "Here. Drink."

She accepted the cold, acidy liquid and drank a few swallows of it. " Thank you." She set the more than half full glass on the counter top and left to lie back down on the couch.

JC re-entered the kitchen moaning as if he was in pain.

"Haha oh you poor baby. JC, would you like some Coke too?"

He pushed Chris and walked over to the refrigerator to actually get him a Coke. "Shut up, Chris. What you said ain't funny, man."

-------------

Hours later.

Justin walked into the large house and looked around. He didn't see Chris or JC anywhere. Kim was on the couch sleeping.

He slowly crept his way over to Kim, and then he heard a big bang and JC and Chris came barging into the house drenched in sweat and out of breath. "I BEAT YOU!" JC shouted in Chris' face.

"No you DID NOT! I told you my leg was hurting. You will NEVER be better than me in basketball, JC!"

Justin looked at the both of them and was mad. He was mad for two reasons. One being, they had left Kim alone, the other was them coming into the house being so loud and obnoxious." He was holding things in his hands, but he managed to make a gesture and he ran the side of his finger over his throat warning them to watch themselves.

"How about one more game?" Chris asked JC nervously.

"Sounds good to me." They both ran out of the house.

Justin then looked back at Kim who hadn't moved yet. He set one-hundred pink roses on the coffee table which were in a vase and he set a bag down from a restaurant which had some hot vegetable soup in it.

When he took a seat next to her on the couch he made sure he was careful. He didn't want to wake her or disturb her sleep in any way.

She started to moan and then she grabbed his leg and squeezed it. "Justin? Justin, I feel so bad." She sat up and climbed into his lap and balled herself up. "I feel so bad." She started to cry. "I feel like shit."

He continuously kissed the top of her head. "Aww, don't cry sweet thing. Have JC and Chris been treating you okay? Have they been around at all?"

She wiped her eyes and coughed. " Yeah they have been treating me good. I just feel so bad, baby. I hate being sick."

He lifted her head to where he could see her beautiful eyes. "Don't cry. You'll be okay." He bent down and kissed her on the lips. "I got you some roses. You said pink is your favorite color right?"

She nodded and then looked over at the coffee table. The tears fell more. She tucked her head against his great smelling chest. "I love you so much. You treat me like a queen."

He reached over and pulled one of the roses out of the vase. "I treat you like the queen you are." He ran the rose over her scrunched body and placed it in her hand. "What do you want to do? Would you like me to make you a doctors appointment? You've had the flu even before we went over to Mom's for Thanksgiving."

She put the rose to her nose, but she couldn't smell it because her nose was too stuffy. "I'll be okay. Today is one of my better days with it. The roses are beautiful. Thank you."

He kissed the top of her head. "Your welcome." He kissed her again. "Are you hungry?" He asked placing his chin gently on top of her head.

"Kinda."

"Okay. Well, I brought you some soup. And please tell me you like vegetable soup. When I went into the restaurant to get it, there was a fan there, and she literally jumped on me. I didn't have Mike with me or Lonnie, so they had to get security to get her away from me. It was so crazy. So, please tell me you like vegetable soup. I wouldn't want to have to go back there..."

She tried to laugh but ended up coughing instead. "I like vegetable soup."

He kissed her head again, and Kim kissed his hand which was very near her face. "Thats a nasty cough you got there...how about I take you upstairs and give you a massage...WITH VAPOR RUB."

She dropped the rose and cleared her mucus filled throat. "With vapor rub? Now that's what I'm talkin' about."

He stroked her arm. "Yeah, with vapor rub...and kisses."

That brought her a step back. "I don't know about that."

"Okay, appropriate kisses." He chuckled at her words.

She coughed again. "Before we go upstairs, can I have my soup first? I mean I'll probably throw it back up, but I want it." She rose from his lap and got her a tissue from the coffee table.

Justin just sat and watched her. Drawstring pants did miracles for her waist. She was wearing a sports bra-like top which exposed her entire stomach. He could see the ripples in her mid chest all the way down to the middle of her stomach.

When she turned her back to him to blow her nose, he could see that the stitches she had in her back from her gunshot wound had faded and was almost undetectable. His eyes carried up and down her body, it was a wrong thing to do, but he couldn't help it. She turned around quickly and sniffed. She had caught him staring. "You okay?" He asked. His eyes was now on her inner belly button, and the skin that was shown below that.

"Not really, but I'll live."

His eyes slowly worked their way UP her body and met her eyes. "That's sad to hear." He said, not really understanding what he was saying. He was too into her at the moment and his eyes traveled back down her.

"Are you okay?" She asked sneezing followed by a cough.

"Not really." He made eye contact with her. "I have major problems. As good as you look right now, I just wanna..." He smiled and turned his head to the side. "Kim, don't mind what I just said."

She coughed and then held her throat. "How was recording in the studio?" She asked.

"Come here." He said ignoring her question. She stood between his open legs and looked down at him. She could tell he was staring at some portion of her body, she didn't know what it was, but it sure wasn't her eyes. She forcefully lifted his head to meet her eyes. "Forgive me, but you just look so damn good baby girl. God, I love everything about you. Even the things that go on in that mind of yours. YOU LOOK good." He enthused. "You look good. I want to remember this moment right now. Your hair looks great, it's gotten longer. Everything about you is amazing."

She looked at him and placed a curl behind his ear. He just didn't know how GREAT he was looking himself. He had got his hair trimmed, dyed blond, and his side burns shaped up. He looked so pure, so clean, so fabulous. And then she sneezed on him. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. I don't care."

"Why are you always telling me how beautiful I am? Do you know how beautiful you are? How sexy you are?" She slid her hands underneath his jacket and slipped it off of his shoulders. "Do you understand that I think you are the most beautiful guy on the face of the Earth, inside and out." She covered her mouth and coughed.

He put his hands on her bare waist, it was hot with fever. It was so small both of his fingers met tip to tip. "You are so tiny." He turned her body with his hands. "Look at this Kim, both of my hands make up the size of your waist."

"So, what? It's not like I can help it. I do eat ya know. I just don't gain weight." She broke away from his arms and picked up the bag which held the soup. She opened up the bag and removed a plastic container. She took a lid off of it. The soup looked good. She wished she could smell it.

"Try it." Justin said from the couch, eyeing her.

She took a sip of the soup, it was almost cold. Seconds later her stomach was contracting and churning. She was getting her 'green' glow back. "Oh no." She started pacing the floor to calm the substance down. "I'm not going to throw up...I'm not going to throw up." She started swallowing frequently, a natural reaction when the body it going to vomit. She started to cry. "I HATE this. I hate this. I don't want to be sick anymore."

Justin stood up and wrapped his arms around her. "What's the matter?"

"I'm going to throw up."

He kissed her on the head. "Then go throw up...you'll probably feel better."

"Oh you are a lot of help, Justin. Do you see? I HATE THIS! It's all JC's fault! He gave me the flu."

He laughed and rocked her a little in his arms. "You okay now? Just calm down."

She stomped her foot and removed herself from his grasp. "NO, I'm NOT okay. I HATE being SICK!" She then threw up all over the floor and on him.

"You just puked all over my SHIRT. I love this shirt. LOOK at the floor. Isn't that what five year-olds do? Have a fit then puke on the floor. Seriously you could have went to the bathroom, but no, you JUST STAND there and PUKE on the floor? JESUS!"

Chris and JC busted through the front door. When Chris saw what happened, he turned JC in the opposite direction. "JC, don't look man." He looked at Justin and Kim. Kim was crying and just...doing nothing. "What happened in here?"

"I'll clean it up...I didn't mean...I'll clean it up." Kim said not answering his question." She walked away sobbing.

"I'll clean it up." Chris offered. "I know you are sick, you go upstairs and rest...I'll clean it up."

"Okay." She replied sadly and she jogged upstairs quickly.

Chris left JC's side and walked over to where the mess was. "She didn't make too big of a mess." Chris said calculated the extent of the damage. "Justin, shouldn't you be going somewhere? Like upstairs to your girl? She's CRYING man. Thats a big deal with females. You probably was being an ass to her." Chris told him slapping him upside the head.

"Keep you hands off of me, old man." He looked over at his jacket still on the couch. He then took of his shirt. "I cannot believe she just sat there and puked on the floor. Just like a CHILD would do."

Chris shoved his bare chest. "Sometimes people can't help what happens. Sometimes PEOPLE make mistakes, and have accidents, but not you, because you are by far, the all mighty JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. King of the world! The most PERFECT person on Earth." He then walked away from him to go get something to clean up the mess.

"Hey no fighting." JC said still with his back turned away from the mess.

"Did I say I was KING of the WORLD? No! Why do you always say SHIT like that?" He took off his sneakers and left them near the mess. "And since you are in the cleaning mode CHRIS, you can wash my SHIRT and my SNEAKERS too."

Chris came back into view with a mop bucket, the mop itself and a towel. "I will. You want to know why? Because sometimes you are so childish. You are so spoiled , MEAN, and CHILDISH. I don't understand what she sees in you. She's sees some good somewhere inside of you that I don't see."

Justin laughed really hard. "Childish? YOU ARE CALLING ME CHILDISH? Who is the one that CRIED because there electronic key chain pet died? What about when you ran through the park shouting 'peace on Earth', or the time you told our fans that you were not Chris from Nsync, and that you were an immigrant from Mexico. NOW THAT IS CHILDISH. So don't call me that!"

"That's childish in the funny way, you are childish in the STUPID way. And Justin, I'm not in the mood today. You are just...man, just shut up. I know, and you know you can't kick my ass. I love you but you make me sick sometimes.

"I'll uh...go check on Kim." JC said running upstairs. He opened the bedroom door and saw Kim on the bed with her eyes closed. "Kim you okay?" He asked.

She opened her eyes and looked at him with a softness in them. "I'll be okay." She held her stomach and closed her eyes again. Just when he was about to ask her something else. Justin appeared next to him, and he didn't look very happy. JC moved aside and moved out of his way.

Justin didn't say anything walking by him, he just walked into the bedroom and closed the door behind him.

He looked at Kim and just stood there. He didn't know what to say or do, so he just...stood there.

Kim knew that some one had entered the room but the room was so quiet she became curious and opened her eyes. Justin was just standing there in just jeans. She could see the trim of his black boxers.

"I'm sorry." He said plainly. He lowered his head and looked at the carpet. "I'm sorry for being so mean to you back there."

"Okay." She answered quickly. She closed her eyes.

Justin knew by the simple response, that she was mad. She had answered him too quickly and she agreed with him too quickly.

She coughed once and then held her throat as if it hurt very badly.

"Kim your mad at me, aren't you?"

She didn't answer him, as a matter of fact she began having a coughing fit and she walked into the bathroom and locked the door.

Justin sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed. This was the first 'small' fight they had in months. Now was not a good time to start having them either. He was required to perform at the Radio Music awards in a few days. Kim said she would go with him. That also brought up a lot of problems and fear within him. It would be the first time he would bring Kim into the televised public, and they were engaged now. She had the very visible ring on her finger.

He heard a sniffle and looked to the side of him. It was Kim, and she laid back down on the bed. She didn't say anything, she just laid down.

Justin just needed closure. He just needed a break from everything, so even though it was a little early he decided to take a shower. Finally he put towels in the bathroom so that was one thing he didn't have to worry about. He got him something to put on, and walked into the bathroom.

--------

When Justin came back out of the bathroom he saw Kim close her eyes when she saw him.

He didn't know just how good he looked in just a pair of loose fitting pants. He climbed in bed and put his hand on her stomach. "Your mad at me, aren't you?" He kissed her raw shoulders and worked his way up to her neck.

"Yes, very mad at you." He kissed her harder. "Oh very very mad...oh damn...very...very hot...I mean mad."

His hand started to wander. "I don't want you to be mad at me anymore." He whispered against her skin.

"Oh Justin, what the HELL are you doing? I have the flu, man."

He outlined the curves in her back with his tongue. "So."

His hand continued to wander. "Justin...I'm a SCREAMER remember?"

"I don't care about that. You don't know what I'm about to do anyway."

---------------

Chris had cleaned up the floor. What Justin didn't know was he had thrown his shirt in sneakers in the middle of the back yard. Him and JC was sitting on the couch, watching TV and sharing a bag of Doritos.

"Is that...is that Kim screaming like that?" JC asked.

"Yes, and would you like me to explain the story of the birds, and extremely hormonal guys?"

"They made up." They said at the same time.

"They really made up, at the sound of that girl." JC said overcoming a case of the shivers.

"Yeah." Chris said eating several Doritos at one time. "Maybe we should leave them alone."

"Nah." They both said at the same time.

"I want to see what Justin has to say when he comes back downstairs." JC said snatching the bag of food from Chris.

"I can't believe them...don't they know they have company down here?"

"Chris, I can't believe you cleaned up that... ew. I don't want to talk about it."

He looked over at JC. "JC, you are so...how do I put this? Girly. You need to drag your girlfriend from California for a while because you are so...how do I put this? Lonely, lame, WEAK. I think she brings out the manhood in you."

They both started laughing.

"Hush, man. Stop calling me GIRLY. Do you think Lance is still having that party tomorrow?"

Chris scratched his head. "Yeah I think so. I don't know if I'm going or not though. Last time Lance had a party...lets just say...I don't even know how to put it."

"What did I tell you? Every since Lance turned twenty-one he's has all kinds of drinks at his parties. I told you Chris. DON'T DRINK at Lance's party. You did NOT listen to me. It's all your fault you thought Joey was the red-head girl you use to date in the seventh grade."

They both laughed together. "Aye man, I did NOT think that. Don't you tell anyone about that either." He pointed at him with a smile.

"Haha okay. That was pretty funny when you was walking around with Lance's garden hose saying it was your pet snake. Ahahaha. You looked so stupid."

Before Chris could reply to his comment they both her a loud sigh or a scream from Kim. They looked over at the area of the stairs.

Chris had a questioning look on his face. "Justin has some MAJOR explaining to do."

"Ummmhummm." JC said with his mouth full of chip.

Minutes later Justin walked downstairs with a huge, clown-like smile of his face. He sat down in a chair that was across from them. They both looked at him and then stared at him like he was in the wrong house.

"What did I do?" He asked staring back at them.

Chris was the first to speak. "It's more like what didn't you do!" Him and JC started laughing.

"Yeah, what the heck did you do to Kim? She was screaming for dear life. Where is she?

Justin put his hand to his chin. "She's sleeping." His smile grew bigger.

"You didn't answer the first part of his question." Chris said looking at Justin strangely.

"God, ya'll are so nosy. We didn't do what you two pervs are thinking. Well damn. It is none of your business what goes on in this house." They raised eyebrows at him. "Okay...I know that was a little harsh..." They continued to stare at him hard. It was like they were trying to burn a hole in him. It was working too. "I." He mouth next word to them. "Her, and I gave her a massage with vapor rub."

Chris covered JC's mouth with his hand. "Holy...Why did you just tell us that?"

He shrugged. "Hey you asked, and IT WAS NOT WHAT YOU TWO WERE THINKING."

JC struggled to say something under Chris' grip. "Yeah but you have scarred little JC here for life. You know he's a softy. Besides, what you just said is worse than what we were thinking. Oh God, and vapor rub?"

JC managed to get Chris' hand away from his mouth. "Justin, what would your mother think?"

He started laughing at how stupid they were acting. "My mother would say "I'd like that done to me." Oh and she would also say "My son is twenty YEARS OLD, he can do what he wants.""

JC and Chris both shifted back in shock and there eyes widened. They didn't move, they just stared at Justin.

He winked at both of them and picked up the telephone. He was calling a doctor to get an appointment made for Kim. He couldn't think of the number so he walked towards the stairs. He looked back once more, and saw that his two stunned friends were still looking at him funny. "Ya'll need HELP. Both of you!"

He walked upstairs and when he entered the bedroom he saw Kim knocked out, she was even snoring slightly because of the cold in her throat and nose.

He looked though his wallet and found the doctor's office number. He dialed it quickly.

"Hello?"

"Hello, this is Justin Timberlake calling. My fiancé and I have this important trip we need to make. I need to get her an appointment as soon as possible. I think she maybe suffering from the flu."

"Okay Mr. Timberlake. We can accept her tomorrow morning at ten. Would that be okay?"

"That would be perfectly fine. Her name is Kim Miller. That's with two L's, not one."

"Okay, we have her down Mr. Timberlake. We will see her tomorrow morning. By the way you are my daughters favorite. She's going to be ecstatic I talked to you today."

"Well that's nice to know. Thank you very much."

"Thank you. Bye."

"Bye."

Justin hung up the phone and looked around the room. Kim cough in her sleep. "She's adorable. She is so beautiful when she sleeps."

Justin walked back downstairs to put the phone back on the receiver. Still he received strange looks from JC and Chris. "What is WRONG with ya'll? Damn. Your really starting to get on my nerves now."

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with us." Chris said. "JC, you wanna order a pizza, man?"

"Yeah that sounds good Chris." They were taking very unenthusiastic. They tired to make their voices seem dead.

"O. So ya'll are staying tonight?"

They nodded at the same time.

"Good, well then one of you can take Kim to the doctor tomorrow. She's sick and doesn't need to be driving.

"Okay." They both responded.

He threw the phone at Chris and he caught it. "There you go. Order your pizza. AND DO NOT EAT ALL MY FOOD. THERE WILL BE A FIGHT IF I DO NOT HAVE FOOD IN MY REFRIGERATOR IN THE MORNING!"

JC and Chris started snickering when he walked away. "Haha what's he gonna do? Doesn't he always say that? To be honest I want him to do something for once. I'm sick of hearing the same shit he says." JC said, knocking Chris on the shoulder he was laughing so hard.

"Yeah. Me too."

--------

Next morning November 29, 2001

"Those jeans look really good on you. You can see your ass in them." Kim said blowing her nose in a tissue.

"Oh, is that a compliment? You are looking mighty fine this morning. You just sound awful." He grabbed Kim and pulled her to his chest. "You are burning up too. I bet you could cook an egg on that skin of yours."

She wrapped her arms around him. "It's not hot. It's cold in here."

"That's a true sign of fever. You feel hot on the surface, but inside you feel cold." He kissed the top of her head.

"I feel so icky Justin. How many times am I going to throw up today? My body aches all over. My nose won't stop running, and I can't stop coughing. This sucks."

"I know, baby girl. I know. That's why JC is taking you to the doctor right now. I'm sorry I can't take you, I have to go visit Johnny at his office in a few minutes. I know he's going to lecture me about my slacking." He sighed.

Kim didn't want to leave his arms. She didn't want to break away from his comforting warmth. "Okay, hopefully the doctor will give me something that will get rid of this horrible flu. I'm sick of being sick."

He kissed her once on the lips. "Go ahead, baby girl. I'll see ya in about three hours. If you are feeling better, we'll go out to eat."

The thought of food almost made her sick right there. "K." She looked at her face in the mirror then turned to leave the room.

"And that outfit you have on...damn. Makes my mouth water." He looked her up and down when she kept walking.

"Yeah. Sure, Justin."

She made her way downstairs and she joined JC who was waiting for her. Chris was asleep on the couch.

"How do you feel?" JC asked.

"Like I'm going to throw up."

He looked at her closely. "That's a very bad thing because, you see, I have a weak stomach and..."

"JC don't worry. I WON'T throw up in your car." She coughed several times.

"Okay lets get going."

--------------

"Miss Kim Miller."

A nurse called her name. She looked over at JC who was in the waiting room with her. "I'll be back in a minute, she said rising to her feet.

When she approached the lady that called her name, she noticed she was staring deeply at her ring. She was uncomfortable and wanted to cover it up but she didn't.

"That's a beautiful ring." The woman said smiling brightly.

"Thank you."

"The doctor will be with you shortly, just have a seat."

The woman left the room and Kim sat down on the cold examination table. She wasn't alone for a good minute because the doctor came strutting into the room. He smelled like antiseptic. "Hello Ms. Miller. I'm Doctor Joan's. How are you feeling?"

She inhaled her mucus before speaking. "I don't feel very well."

He approached her, with a small light. He pulled her eyelids down and looked into her eyes. "What are your symptoms?"

"I um have a fever, I've been vomiting, I've got a runny nose. Coughing...sneezing; all symptoms I have."

"Open your mouth." She did so.

"Wow you have a nice set of teeth in your mouth. Braces?"

She nodded.

"Okay, on a serious notion you definitely have a fever. Flu season is coming around the corner, and I wouldn't be surprised if you did have the flu. I'm going to take a little blood just to make sure, because with all the symptoms you have it could be something worse. Not to scare you or anything, but it could be cancer, it could be a problem with your gall bladder. You could have anything."

"Ok."

"I believe I've scared you, haven't I?" He walked over to a drawer and pulled things out of it.

"No, not really. I think I caught the flu from a friend of mine." She fiddled with her hands because she didn't like needles much. She could take them, but she didn't like them.

The doctor walked over to her, and picked up her arm. "Don't worry miss this will only sting for a second." He rubbed a alcohol pad in the pit of her arm and then stuck a needle in one of her veins.

"Yikes...that kind of hurts."

"Okay. Only a few more seconds." He said continuing to draw blood. "Okay, that's all." He took a piece of gauze and placed in the absence of the needle. "Hold that on your arm, while I go check this out." He walked out of the room as if he was in a rush.

Kim held the gauze in place and lifted it up every once in a while to see if the mini hole was still bleeding. What he said got her thinking. Maybe she had something...like some type of disease and she was dying. Throughout her childhood she barely ever went to doctors. Something very well may have been wrong with her.

It seemed to take the doctor hours to get back to her, but finally he did, and he was looking at her strangely. "Kim...you lie down for me. Lift your shirt up." She lifted it up, until it reached the point of exposing her bra. He put pressure on the sides of her stomach and moved a little lower. When he started to insert his hand inside of her jeans she became worried. He then started touching her throat. He had a very serious look on his face. "Oh no, is something wrong?"

He put a hand out, and she accepted it and sat up. "Doctor, is something wrong with me?"

He didn't answer her. He put his stethoscope in the area of her heart. "Ummhumm." He said to himself. He then placed it on her stomach and she jumped because it was so cold. He placed it on her back next. "Breath in." She did so, but it was very gritty because she had so much mucus in her body. "Breath out."

He stepped away from her and rubbed his chin.

"Doctor, please tell me what is wrong."

He chuckled. "Miss Miller, you have what is called Influenza, it's nothing more than a fancy name for the flu. I'm going to give you a flu shot. It's just an antibiotic and you should get better in a day or two. You need to drink a lot of liquids and get a lot of rest. You need to take good care of you and your baby."

"What did you just say?"

"I said: Take care of you and your baby. Your pregnant Miss Miller."

That was just too much for her and she fainted.

"Miss Miller? Miss Miller?" He straitened up her limp body and her checked her eyes again. She awoke at the sight of his blinding light.

"What the fuck?" She jumped off of the table, and paced around the room. "Pregnant?"

"Yes. You should sit down or you may make yourself sicker."

She sat back down on the table. "Ohhhhh NOOOOOO!" She started to cry.

"What's wrong Miss? You didn't know? Your almost three months it seems. I'd say your about two and a half months...You haven't noticed your periods have been missing?"

"OHHHHHH NOOOOOO! How can I been so stupid? I've always had irregular periods. My doctor said it was because of my weight. I get my periods about every three months. I had one about three months ago. Oh My God this is just HORRENDOUS! I am so FUCKED!"

The doctor covered his mouth at the sound of her language.

Kim looked down at her stomach. "Noooooo. NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOO! I can't tell Justin about this. This will ruin everything for him." She fell to the ground and stuck her face against her knees.

"Don't worry Miss Miller. Morning sickness is not that bad. You probably won't throw up more than you have been. I'm going to transfer you to Doctor Clark. He will assist you with your pregnancy. All the way up until you go into labor. Oh, I forgot to ask, you are having the baby aren't you? Or was abortion or adoption in mind? You don't have much time. After three months your pretty much stuck with a baby."

Abortion? Abortion was awful. It was cruel. She knew she wasn't getting one whether she was prepared for mother hood or not. Adoption, NEVER. That meant one thing. In a few months she was going to be a mother. "I'm having it. I have to." She whispered through tears. She stood up and started to hold herself. "My God! How come I'm not showing? I can't be pregnant."

"Miss Miller I can feel the baby. You aren't showing because you barely weigh one-hundred pounds. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't show all that much at nine months."

"I been pregnant for two freakin' months without knowing?" She looked down at herself.

"Two and a half." The doctor corrected.

She turned away from him and looked at the window blinds. "When did this happen? Okay...it must have been the day we fooled around after we got out of the pool, or when I got back from the hospital...this is outrageous. How can you be so stupid, Kim? I'm going to be sick." She covered her mouth with her hand.

"Third door on the left."

Kim ran out of the room.
