The cheapest we've found is at Wal-Mart.
We use whey-cooking for a child doesn't leave much room for experimentation. There's other protein powders including soy.
Invest in a scoop to be used for cookies. We bought size D-30 (bowl size of 1 7/8"). It gives you a uniform nicely sized cookie (no complaints about the cookie being too small!). All of the following recipes use this scoop.

Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/2 c. flour 1 t. vanilla 1 t. baking 2 eggs 1 c. butter/margarine 1 c. chocolate chips 1/4 c. sugar 4 scoops protein powder 1 1/4. c. brown sugar 1 c. chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add eggs. Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in chips and chopped pecans. Drop with D-30 ice cream scoop (bowl size 1 7/8") onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 13 minutes. Makes 40 cookies. Nutritional Analysis of 1 cookie: 139.6 calories, 8 (49.6%) fat, 14.9 carbs, 3.3 protein.
Peanut Butter Cookies 1 c. margarine 1 t. vanilla 1 c. peanut butter 2 c. flour 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 t. baking soda 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. chopped peanuts 2 eggs 4 scoops protein powder Cream margarine, peanut butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Scoop with D-30 (bowl size 1 7/8")ice cream scoop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 41 cookies. Nutritional Analysis per cookie: 144 calories, 8.7 (53.6%) fat, 12 carbs, 4.9 protein. (without nuts: 134 calories, 7.8 (52%) fat, 11.7 carbs, 4.4 protein)
