Tips on Restaurant Eating

Eating in restaurants is tough! Jared always chooses foods that we don't normally eat (so we don't know the carb counts!) The best tool we've found is the glucometer. We do the best we can at the time then test two hours after the meal, correcting his blood glucose appropriately if necessary.

If you ever have doubts regarding the soda being sugar free, you can test it on the glucometer. If the reading is high, it's not sugar free!

Attached are some carb counts for fast food restaurants. We've printed a small copy and keep it in the case with the glucometer. Updates to this list are always being worked on.
