Henry Franks and his wife Nancy Crow. Henry was born 14 June 1822 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. He is the son of Peter Franks and Rachel Hitt.

Peter Franks was born 6 Dec 1781 in Wake Co, NC, died 14 Aug 1866, Claiborne Parish, LA. Rachel Hitt was born 4 Apr 1792, Wilkes Co, GA and died 2 Oct 1869, Claiborne Parish, LA.

Peter's father was Andrew Franks born c1751 Wake Co, NC and died c1836 Natchitoches, LA and Celia McKenzie. Andrew's father is said to be Jacob Franks of Wake County, NC. John Stippick ... John.Stippick@swec.com

Issac Newton Franks and Elizabeth Francis (Cochran) Franks. Issac was born in Tennessee. The family moved to Talledega Co, Alabama and in 1836-1840 to Bossier Parish, Louisiana. Issac fought with Gray's 28th LA Infantry in the civil war and later moved back and forth between several areas in Texas, eventually ending up in Grayson Co. An old soliders reunion held in early 1900 at the Ebenizer Methodist Church, Fernbank, Alabama. On the bottom row from left to right. The second gentleman seated is Robert Martin "Bob" Franks. All of these men were a part of Alabama's 26th O'Neal Infantry, company "K". Bob was wounded eight time during his enlistment. His brother Edward B. Franks served in the same regiment and company but was not in the photo. He was born 17 Aug 1846 in Fayette, Alabama. Died 1 May 1928 in Starkville, Mississippi. His parents were Samuel H. Levi Franks Family ... . My husband's grandmother, Maggie Franks (Nation) is missing from the family picture as she is married at that time. Taken about 1895-1900. The youngest child in the picture was born in 1891.
