Some believe that John Walker's wife was a Cannon based on
family tradition. I have not found any data to support this.

John Walker was commissioned an Ensign in the Sevier County
militia on 9 Dec 1808. He served as an ordnance sergeant in the
War of 1812 in Simeon Perry’s company of Col. Sam Bunch’s
regiment of Mounted Infantry. "Tennessee Cousins" refers to
him as Major Walker.
