"Kurt and Courtney" goes nationwide!
Despite her best threats,
Love won't be able to stop Broomfield
from showing a national audience his
Kurt and Courtney documentary
--a film that not only tracks her marriage to
Kurt Cobain
but also contains interviews with Love's estranged father
and a suspicious private investigator,
both of whom speculate about the boisterous Hole singer's
involvement in the Nirvana frontman's 1994 death.
Despite several intimidating legal letters from Love's attorney,
San Francisco's Roxie Theater,
and its distribution arm, Roxie Releasing,
plans to show the film in 15 big cities nationwide starting
April 3,
according to spokesman Elliot Lavine.

Did Courtney Love Plagiarize Kurt Cobain's Song?
(Who the hell gives a *@!$#%)
A recent Hole import release
is lending credence to the
suspicions of some who believe
that much of Courtney Love's
songwriting prowess could be attributed to her late
husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
The Seattle weekly
The Stranger reports that a track titled "Old Age" on
the Hole import
My Body, the Hand Grenade was originally
a Nirvana song—though Love is taking credit for it.
The Stranger received a boom-box recording of Nirvana
playing "Old Age" in March of 1991 from an anonymous
source. "Old Age" debuted as a Hole song in April of 1993
on the B-side of their import Beautiful Son. When
contacted by the paper, former Nirvana bassist Krist
Novoselic declined to speak on the controversy, but did
confirm that "Old Age" wasn't a Hole composition. "'Old
Age'? That's a Nirvana song. Kurt wrote that song,"
Novoselic is quoted as saying.
The Stranger's online site (www.thestranger.com) offers
audio clips of Hole's and Nirvana's versions of the song for
comparison. The tunes are exceptionally similar, although
the lyrics (mostly indecipherable on both versions) seem
to have changed. Hole's management and label, Geffen
Records, offered neither confirmation nor denial on the
plagiarism allegations.
