Crucible returned to the Lily Lake Inn Saturday night for what has become a regular monthly gig for the band. A good size crowd greeted the band on this, an unusually warm mid-December night in Connecticut.

The band served up its usual mix of originals and well-chosen covers and kept the show moving at a steady pace throughout the night. A dance (with a DJ) was going on next door and throughout the show several people were seen wandering in to check out the live band instead. Some even got comfortable and forgot about the dance.

In response to previous audience requests, the band decided to dive into Black Sabbath's back catalog and worked up their own version of "Fairies Wear Boots" from the classic "Paranoid" album. The performance was enthusiastically welcomed by tonight's crowd, which clearly preferred the heavier stuff.
