Crucible-Live at The Lily Lake Inn, Wolcott, CT on March 27, 1999.

Crucible returned to their home state of Connecticut, and to the Lily Lake Inn, Saturday night after a successful performance in Mexico at the Baja Prog-Fest. The Inn is one of the band's regular gigs and they always draw a good crowd, tonight was no different. Local fans haven't had the usual number of opportunities to see the band lately due to the Mexican trip and another performance in Pennsylvania. In addition to some new faces, all the regulars found their way to Wolcott on this night.

The band was excited about tonight's show for several reasons. First, lead guitarist Dan Esposito is a proud new father. His wife gave birth to their son just one week ago. Second, Lead vocalist Bill Esposito (Dan's brother) was celebrating his birthday. Third, the band debuted another track which will soon be recorded as part of their second CD. "When The King Is Crowned" was entusiastically received by the crowd and showed that the band is continuing to grow in their arrangement abilities.

The new track was obviously the highlight of this show and will undoubtedly become a regular part of the band's set list from this point on. "Worlds Apart" is another regularly performed track that is scheduled to be a part of the upcoming CD. The band rounded out tonight's set with roughly half of their debut CD "Tall Tales being performed alongside some well-chosen covers.

While Crucible continues to rock the Waterbury area with their regular gigs, the band is attracting more attention in other parts of the country (and Mexico for that matter!). Catch them while you can.
