The Animals' Savior © by Jim Willis
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...
the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread,
sadness and betrayal. And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment, and then spoke softly,
"I have done something," was the reply.
"I created you."

! Please Remember - Rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other
small animals end up in shelters as well and need a Good Home!

Pennsylvania Papillon Club of America Rescue Puppies? If you have your heart set on a puppy and we don't have one, please visit the Papillon Club of America breeders list page that is located on the Papillon Club of America site. It is extemely important that you don't purchase a papillon from a pet store no matter how cute they are. If you already have, enjoy your pet, and next time, find a breeder or rescue. Why? It's the parents that suffer greatly, usually with their lives, if their puppies get sold at the pet stores. Look up information on puppy mills.

Airedale Terrier Club of America Rescue Information Every year, for various reasons, many Airedales in this country find themselves in need of new homes. Sometimes they are lost or abandoned. Most often, however, these dogs are unwanted simply because they have become inconvenient for their owners. It might be a new baby, a move, a new spouse, a divorce, a new house, a new job. Usually these life changes are no reflection on the dogs, but they are easy disposables in our fast-paced society.

New Pen Del Newfoundland Club & Rescue One of the most important of the club's activities is rescuing unwanted or abandoned Newfs. When a club member is made aware of a Newfoundland in need, rescue operations immediately begin. The dog is brought into the club's fold, placed in a foster home, given any required veterinary care, and evaluated for temperament and socialization. If the dog is adaptable, the search for a new family begins. This is a great way to acquire a Newf that will be eternally grateful for his new home.

Our Rottweilers are to be considered a member of the family and housed in the home, and provided with appropriate veterinary care. Our foster program is designed to introduce the dog to all aspects of a home environment while receiving basic obedience and house manner training. Socialization is an important aspect of foster care, and while in the foster home the dog is exposed to children, other pets, traffic, and lots of visitors. The dog's reaction in each situation is monitored, and corrective training initiated.

Another Chance for English Setters A.C.E.S is a group of volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing homeless and displaced English Setter dogs, fostering them, and then placing in new, loving "forever" homes. The welfare of homeless English Setters is our first concern. *Transport help is essential to a national rescue program like ACES. In order to move dogs from one geographic location to another, from shelters to foster care, or from foster care to loving forever homes, ACES relies on volunteer transport help. Without willing drivers, ACES would have no way to move dogs from state to state, and our success would be greatly diminished. Transporters take turns driving a needy dog from place A to place B, handing off the dog from one driver to the next, until the dog is safely in its new location. In rescue lingo, these are called legs. Transport legs are generally 1-2 hours in duration. ACES always needs volunteers to drive.
