THE OLD F-51 MUSTANG ~ LOTS OF FUN!

awar
Another friend from later days!

~ We met at a dance at Scott Air Force Base near Belleville, Illinois and used to go to dances here at the YWCA in Alton, Illinois.

We fell in love and were married seven months later at "Aunt Opal's" house in Medora, Illinois

on April 19,1953, a Sunday afternoon when it actually snowed as we left after the wedding.

~ We started married life in an apartment in Belleville but after a year we were transfered to Beausejour, Manitoba
to a base (At that time) in Canada. We were there for almost two years. The people there were very friendly. We met some really nice people in Beausejour.

~ After Gary's discharge from the Air Force we settled down in Alton, Illinois (Dorothy's hometown). Gary worked for McDonnell Aircraft. Four of our children were born in Alton. Teresa Mary on April 10,1957, Michael Rolla on May 24,1959, Debra Catherine on July 23,1961, and Maria Frances on November 9,1962.

~ We moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1964 when Gary accepted a position as maintenance engineer at St Francis Village. He also was a deputy sheriff at this time. Our family increased by Regina Ann born December 24,1964 and Jacinta Elizabeth on March 1,1966. Gary went to Vietnam to help maintain helicopters for the government.

~ When he returned we moved to San Diego, California which we now with great pride call home. Gary took a job with General Dynamics and spent most of his time as a test technician on the ACM program. Our three youngest children were born here. Laura Alice on June 27,1969, Joseph Anthony on December 28,1970, and Gary Nathan II on December 1,1972.
