Hi, I'm Erin and this is mine and my four legged friend, Scottish Mist's small place on the web!
This page is dedicated to dressage, the art of riding.
I believe it is very important to get dressage known more around the world
and have more people participate in the sport I love! Before I say more, read
on and enjoy this and my many other pages:)
Scottish Mist (aka Scottie or Scott) is my 15hh chestnut QH gelding. He
loves to eat, keep clean, show off his dressage moves, sail over x-country jumps
at flat out gallop and challenge every horse he's got an eye on to a race (I think he's in the wrong sport..grin:)
When I bought him he was trained as a western horse, but I trained him in dressage-which took a lot of patience!- and
jumped him some. He's come a long way since then and has turned into a fairly good dressage mount.
The summer of '97 was truly a great show season! It was the first year that we were always placed in the top three,
most of the time coming in first. Our marks were consistently in the low/mid 60's which showed me I could actually do dressage. It also gave me a lot of hope.
Not only did it give me hope, but much more faith in Scottie and made me realize that even a backyard horse could be a success.
Our main wins that year were when we received Provincial Jr Basic I and II Dressage Champion, Reserve Champion in Basic II
for the Maritimes and earned a 2nd in the qualifying rounds at the Canadian National Dressage Championships.
We were also awarded the Riders Habit medal for N.B. as well as other numerous prizes. Although, the most important thing was that I had
a lot fun! The summer of '98 was also a pretty great season as well! To find out how we did, check out my '98 show season page:)
Scottie and I have been through the rough and the good, the sad and the happy. We've stood our ground through several
attacks of bad colic, lameness, trouble in training, and times when I just thought we couldn't get through it.
All in all, we've survived and made it all right. I really owe it all to him for getting me into dressage,
helping me out and trying his best to please!
I've had Scottie for about 6 yrs and purchased a horse to go to Young Riders with 2 1/2 years ago(check out "Cossack" under my other links)!
Fortunately, Scottie still remains part of our family :o)
