NGAJAT BEBUNOH

Literally, a battle dances or dances of the warriors. This lively dance depicts two Iban warriors engaged in armed combat as they strive for status and recognition in the longhouse. Dressed in full battle attired and armed with a long sword and colourful decorative shields, the warriors display skill and agility, occasionally letting out a battle cry as they try to outdo one another. The dance is reminiscent of the olden days when feuds between different groups were settled by the sword.
