One of the most popular dances of the Iban community, the ngajat is performed as gesture of welcome for guests. The supple movements of the body, the delicate, articulate yet gentle display of the hands and the deliberate, measured and balanced footsteps in union with the rhythmic beating of the gongs and drums are distinctive features of this charming and artistic dance.
