TARIAN SAGA LUPA

A popular dance among the Orang Ulu community, the Saga Lupa is usually performed by a group of ladies during festivals or in honour of important guests to the longhouse. A specially colourful and graceful dance performed to the accompaniment of music from the sape, the dance accentuates the friendliness and gentleness, verging on shyness, of the Orang Ulu people.

The dances are attired in colourful skirts decorated with traditional native designs and motifs; coloured beads adorn their necks and are girdled around their slender waists, while in their hands are clutched a cluster of hornbill feathers.
