As the name denotes, this is the dance of the keris (Malay dagger). The keris symbolises power, courage and strength. In the hands of the performers, as they dance about with their keris drawn out, this item sums up their desire and aspiration to stand up to the challenge of life and to be upright and courages in whatever they do.
