Full name: Duncan Scott Sheik
Born: November 18, 1969 in Montclair, New Jersey.

Duncan started playing piano at age 5.


He was raised in South Carolina, and started playing in a band at age 12.


Attended Brown University, with Lisa Loeb. Played in a band with Lisa called, Liz and Lisa.


He graduated with a degree in semiotics.


Duncan is a big fan of Jeff Buckley.


'A Body Goes Down' is an ode to Jeff Buckley. Duncan considered him to be the most talented artist of his generation.


Although raised Catholic, Duncan is a Buddhist. He has been practicing Buddhism since he was 19 years old. He once said in an interview that the average day for him was, "getting up, getting some coffee, going back. Chanting for an hour, and turning on the computer."


Duncan said he chants, "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo." In the Buddhism religion, chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo can get you anything you want in life.


Barely Breathing was the last song Duncan wrote for the album, and the last one he thought would be a hit.


Duncan has said he eats too many eggs. :)
