Henry David Rumsey
1824 - 1903

Henry David Rumsey was born in the town of Howard, New York, on the 24th of September, in the year of our Lord 1824.

Henry married Christianna Woodmancy on the 23rd of November, 1848.

On the 13th of March, 1903, in Homer, New York, Henry died. He was buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, New York.

Henry David Rumsey

This special page for Henry David Rumsey is being done for his great-great-great-grandson, and was begun on the 1st day of January, 2001.

The photo to the left is said to be the only one in existence of Henry, and a trip is planned to Dryden to get a clearer copy of the photo for this page.

More information on Henry will be added to this, his page, as time permits.

It is said that Henry helped his son Charles Benjamin invent the Rumsey Steam Engines. Anyone who has photos they would like to share, of the Rumsey engines, buildings, or other interesting items, please send them in a file to Max.

CHRISTIANNA WOODMANCY

Christianna was born in Dryden, New York on the 9th of September, 1828, and died on the 10th of October, 1906 in Homer, New York.

Her father, David Woodmancy, was born in Massachusetts, and died on the 8th of October, 1882. David's parents were from Rhode Island. Christianna's mother is Esther Hurd.
