Just over a year ago we reported on the sad death of Bill Gates, and the subsequent remembrance events that followed (see International section), but recently there have been a spate of sightings of the computer mogul across America.
In a spooky parallel with Elvis Presley, the King of Software is spotted after his death in a variety of locations. The most recent of these was last week, when fourteen people reported seeing him working behind the desk at local motel. When the Society investigated we found only an old lady in a rocking chair who said that the young lad had left.
Idol
Mr Gates, who was an idol to millions of disillusioned youngsters, was shot in the head last year as he got off his private jet. The killing has sparked a rash of copycat murders, usually by schoolchildren with inferiority complexes, and the forthcoming release of the film version has been postponed due to public boycotting of the studios other products.
Psychobullshit
An eminent psychologist has described the sighting phenomenon as 'Delayed Diana Syndrome', in reference to the public grief at the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. The public, who haven't got over the death of Bill Gates, see him in their everyday lives.
But the sightings have been so common and each one reported by lots of people that some are suggesting that the death was faked to hike share prices. Many other people have voiced many other mad theories but they're all mad so we won't waste time with them.
