Tools for Technology Integration into the Curriculum
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Hours of Credit: 3
hours
Brief Catalog Description
This graduate course in educational technology will teach
basic concepts and skills in the operation and use of technology tools
including, but not limited to, CD-ROM, laser disk player, projection unit
and LCD panel, scan converter, camcorder, VHS recorder, flatbed scanner,
digital camera and digital imaging devices.
Information
Educators will develop lesson plans and multimedia presentations
integrating technology tools and will demonstrating their use in daily
curricular situations.
Prerequisites
EDU 440 or demonstration of basic technology/computer
skills outlined in “Just In Time” class
Objectives: By the end of this class,
the learner will be able to:

Demonstrate the ability to operate CD-ROM, laser disk player
and DVD

Demonstrate the ability to operate a projection unit and
LCD panel.

Demonstrate the ability to operate a scan converter, camcorder
and VHS recorder

Demonstrate the ability to operate a flatbed scanner, digital
camera and other digital imaging device.

Present a Powerpoint presentation
-
Demonstrate the ability to operate data back-up equipment

Demonstrate the ability to use tools for system support and
maintenance

Demonstrate the ability to select the most appropriate medium
for a given system

Develop and present a lesson plan incorporating appropriate
tools
