Brief Catalog Description:
This graduate course in educational technology will provide
an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the use of application
and curriculum-related software in the teaching and learning process. It
will include the use of application programs and instructional software
in selection, evaluation, and correlation with the adopted WV Instructional
Goals and Objectives.
Information:
Educators will use application programs and instructional
software relating to state goals and objectives for professional enhancement
and for use in the classroom.
Objectives: By the end of this class,
the learner will be able to:

Demonstrate skills in using application programs for professional
productivity

Demonstrate skills in developing the students’ abilities
to use application software as a tool

Demonstrate the ability to evaluate new software programs

Demonstrate the ability to integrate application software
to curriculum subjects

Demonstrate the knowledge to identify system requirements
for software purchases

Select appropriate applications or software for a given task
or problem

Demonstrate an awareness of copyright laws as they relate
to software and licensing

Identify sources both electronically and in periodicals that
introduce new software applications
