Measuring 5" X 6 1/2" and dated 1837 he signs as one of the commissioners of the Erie Canal fund. He was born in 1798, and died in 1879. He was an officer in the War of 1812, Governor of N.Y; Adj. Gen. N.Y; U.S. Senator, Sect. of the Treasury, and Major General in the Civil War.
