The Department offers Ph.D. programs in the areas of Communications,  Controls, Computers, Integrated Electronics and Circuits, Power Systems, and Power Electronics.

Communications Group

The communications group has 13 faculty members at present.  The group conducts research in all areas of electronics and optical communications.  The group offers an M.Tech program in Communications Engineering and participates in an interdisciplinary M.Tech program on Optical Communications.  The group has carried out a number of sponsored and consultancy projects for outside agencies. Computer Technology Group

The Computer Technology group consists of 9 faculty members at present.  The group conducts research in the areas of Multimedia, Computer Networks, Parallel Processing, High Performance Computing, Neural Networks, and VLSI/CAD. The group runs an M.Tech program in Computer Technology and contributes to an M.Tech Program in Computer Applications. Control Group

Integrated Electronics and Circuits (IEC)

The IEC group currently consists of 11 faculty members (see list below).  The group conducts research in all aspects of integrated electronics and circuits. The group runs an M.Tech program in Integrated Electronics and Circuits, and contributes to an interdisciplinary M.Tech program in VLSI Design, Tools, and Technology (VDTT).  The group has carried out a number of sponsored research, consultancy, and manpower development  projects for outside agencies.  The faculty members in the group include:

Power Group

The power  group (PAS) consists of 10 faculty members at present.  The group conducts research in all areas of electrical power systems, power electronics, machine drives, energy conversion, and power transmission.
