The Eagle Pass Youth Softball Association Softball team will be traveling to Brusly, Louisiana on July 17th to take part in the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Tournament according to Association president, Tina Moreno.

Organizers and parents will be taking as many as 65 players that form 5 different teams comprised of ages 8,10,12,14 and 16 years old. Team managers are Willie Ruiz, Cesar Flores, Reynol Mendoza, Carlos Rodriguez and Steve Esquivel.

The parents of each team are currently involved in fundraising to help pay for their expenses associated with the tournament which could last 5 days if any team advances to the finals. Although this is a separate effort on the part of parents, the Association will make sure that all contributions are accounted for and letters to that effect have been provided as verification.

The Association has already collected $15,000 which they estimate will be enough to cover the teams expenses including gas, meals and accomodations.

The Association invites the public to attend their regularly scheduled Board meetings and added that all their records, including fundraising and expenses are public record and available to everyone.
