The counter is pretty useless since Tripod reset it without notifying us, but this page has been visited by this many people in some time span or another: .

E-mail me, but please realize that this page is a hobby, so I don't reply to e-mail all that promptly - no offense intended!

Good Eats

  • Citysearch.com Restaurant Guide
  • SF Chronicle Restaurant Guide
  • Savvy Diner Guide to San Francisco Restaurants (and on-line reservations) My restaurant picks
    • The Carnelian Room - Incredible view, luxurious environment - great for visitors and special occassions (too pricey for everyday meals for most of us!)
    • Carribean Zone - Great jerk chicken, awesome mixed drinks, unique atmosphere.
    • El Mansour - Morrocan restaurant in the middle of nowhere, San Francisco.
    • The Ice Cream Dock in Alameda. Traditional cafe fare with a hint of asia, excellent service.

    Worth reading...
"Romantic Days and Nights in San Francisco (Intimate Escapes in the City by the Bay)" - Donna Peck ~ Includes outlying areas - has pre-planned itineraries from one day to two days and two nights, in price ranges from $50 to $1000. A great reference even if you don't use the itineraries.

"Short Bike Rides in and Around San Francisco" - Henry Kingman ~ Short is a very relative term, but the book contains good info, even for beginners (wimps!) like me. Short Bike Rides in and around San Francisco.

"Skating Unrinked (An Insider's Guide to Skating Trails in the San Francisco Bay Area)" - Richard Katz ~ This one has great information - even which areas tend to attract cops writing citations.

"Getting the Most out of Northern California - The Insider's Guide - San Francisco" - "written by locals" ~ This one is great if you're relocating to the area (or visiting on a tight budget). Includes neighborhood descriptions, recommended stores, restaurants, bars, surrounding areas, etc.

    Readers suggestions:
