7/13/04 I'm backkkk after a long absence! See my note below for more, along with my short wish list for authors...

How often have you read a romance and closed the book with a nagging feeling that another one must have been written before it? Perhaps certain secondary characters were so vivid and compelling that you just know they had their own story? Or perhaps the plot was such that you know you've missed the beginning thread somewhere?
Or, conversely, how often have you been drawn to a certain secondary character or setting or storyline, and need to know whether more will be forthcoming?
While there are sites currently on the 'net that provide wonderful bibliographies for hundreds of romance authors, I haven't been able to find one that provides a simple yet concise listing of sequels and prequels. A checklist of sorts that can be printed out and carried on the next book hunt, containing only the very basic and necessary information.

On the following pages I have endeavored to provide such a list!

This will be a big (and ongoing) venture. With several new releases appearing every month, it can be quite a task to sort out whether any of those releases connect to others. It will even be more complex to work with older releases, particularly the myriad category romances issued from the 70's onward. With the help of all you wonderful readers and authors out there, it can be done!

Upon visiting the different pages of the site, if you note omissions, know of additions, or see errors, please do email me! This is a project by readers for readers, and I'd like it to be the best it can be. Email links are provided on each page; by using those, I will know exactly which page(s) need(s) editing. If you'd like to submit several at once via one email, Submission Guidelines can be found by clicking on the link on the upper left side of this page.

Enjoy the site!

7/13/04 I know it's been glaringly obvious that updates have been loonnngggg overdue; well I'm finally back and working on it! And it feels great to back on the project. Unfortunately life happens, along with losing loved ones, and family health issues, and all that "good stuff" (not), causing a lot of fun things like this site to get put on hold. But I saved every email that came in, then bit the bullet and got cable modem (dial-up was sooo slow it took hours and hours to do changes), plus visited some websites when I could, and have been having great fun this week plugging in updates.

I've finished the author pages for the moment and am working on publisher series submissions...there are so many additions that I've split the listings into four pages. I have a feeling it'll go to even more pages soon; there are just so many publishers series out there! (We all love 'em, though.)

I want to thank everyone who sent things in; I really, really appreciate every single one of you, as do all the site visitors. If you'll indulge me a moment, I have to send out a special thank you to B Romano; if you're out there, BR, you're awesome!

I also apologize greatly to those who sent questions; I just didn't have the opportunity to research the answers. I'm working on an idea for handling future questions; I'll announce it if it comes to pass.

Now about that wish list for authors...I have found some outstanding websites this week (love that cable modem; I could whiz through even the most graphic-intensive sites!). But (you could hear the "but", huh?) I was all but pulling my hair out while looking through some of your wonderful booklists. Why?! Because either publication dates were missing, or in the case of categories, there were no category #s (so hard to shop without those!). So here's my wish list (which some websites fulfilled just beautifully):

While listing books by using your cover graphics is very appealing and eye-catching, have a secondary printable text list for shopping
List books in a series together, along with the series name (if there is one).
Barring that, note by a book's title whether it's part of a series, and which one, and where it falls in the reading order.
List the pub dates OR the category # (ISBNs don't work in used bookstores when hunting for OOP backlists, plus some UBS actually shelve books in numerical order).

Thanks for all the patience waiting for updates, everyone, and do please keep sending them in! Hope eveyone is having a wonderful summer; stay safe and may you enjoy all that you read.

Ordering from Amazon.com from this site:

You may order directly from Amazon.com from this site in several ways. Some books in print will have direct links after their titles; click on these to go straight to that book's page on Amazon. If there is no link yet and you know the title you need is currently available, click on the Amazon logo found on the upper right side of each book list page; that will take you to Amazon. For an older book, use the search box within the Amazon logo found on the bottom of the pages to see if it is still available. If so, you can order it following their instructions. Then come on back to continue your visit!

Much gratitude is extended to the following online friends for sharing their research and the contents of their keeper shelves and personal databases to give this site a terrific running start: Gail Brodeur, Jann Muhlhauser (Jaycee), Laverne Hawthorne, Sandi Morris, Darlene Wade, Judith Rice, Marilyn Malone, and various members of online romance discussion groups. Great appreciation is also extended to site visitors who have sent, and continue to send, updates.

Thank you, Tonia, for some great lines of code!
