* rumor : placebo's brian molko is rumored to be modeling for calvin klein. more info as we receive it.
* placebo's second single "every you, every me" will be released in the us soon, with a video as well. the song can be heard in the opening credits of the new film,"cruel intentions" (released march 5th,the picture at left is from it) starring ryan phillippe and sarah michelle gellar. this single was released in the uk in january and entered the uk billboard charts at #11.
* an article on placebo can be found in the march 1999 issue of the uk's "q music magazine" with shirley manson of "garbage" on the cover. the magazine can be really hard to find here in the us,but try a "borders bookstore" or larger bookstore chains to find it in the import magazines section. the article is titled "big in america" and features
pictures from placebo's american tour to promote their new album. it includes snapshots of the band relaxing in their tourbus, partying, etc. several pics from the article can be found in our pics section.
* a small snippet on placebo can be found in april 1999's "spin music magazine" with alanis morissette on the cover. the snippet is on page 113 under the title "bad behavior",it reads like this :
as for what the "tirade" was,i do not know...but brian does briefly mention the incident in "q magazine"'s article on the band saying "how we were expected to go on stage after a band that had strippers and a rapping midget on a pony i'll never know."
* placebo's brian molko recently performed a duet with david bowie,a music star who he has gained comparisons to. the two performed at the brit music awards, the us equivalent of the grammy awards. the song performed was "20th century boy" from the velvet goldmine soundtrack.
* the third single to be released from placebo's new album is "without you i'm nothing",be on the look for it sometime in the us. it was just released in the uk shortly ago.
* placebo is currently touring with stabbing westward. their opening act is flick. i will be attending the march 16th show in columbus, ohio. i'll be sure to post a review of the show here after i return. here's the complete tour list :
baiting homophobic frat boys : improbably wedged onto a bill featuring kid rock, pushmonkey, and limp bizkit, rouged androgyne brian molko of placebo calls kid rock's 3'9" rapping sidekick joe c. a "midget",then performs un-moshable anthems ("nancy boy"),which inspires chants of "faggot" and a tirade from bizkit's fred durst.
