Member of Israel Amateur Radio Club

Shalom! My name is Eyran MILLIS and my QTH is Netanya, ISRAEL. I am 28 years old. I start my ham - radio hobby in 1986, as a Short Wave Listener (SWL). Even in the Internet age, Amateur Radio is an exciting hobby, no matter what age, or gender!

My radio amateur station (4x4-2238):
  • HF Collins Receivers: 51S-1 and 51J-1
  • HF transceiver: Kenwood TS-140S
  • HF Antennas: long wire and a Dipole for 80/40 m

My primary ham radio interests are DXing and contests on the HF bands. I have QSL's from stations in more than 200 countries.

WHY RADIO AMATEURS ARE CALLED "HAMS"
"The word HAM as applied to 1908 was the station CALL of the first amateur wireless station operated by some amateurs of the Harvard Radio Club."

THREE TYPES OF HAMS? Clinton Herbert, eHAM.net, 04/25/2000
"The time has come for all of us set aside our differences, help out all new Amateurs that are coming into our ranks, and help them to become the type of Amateur that we aspire to be."
