LOVING THE SINNER
AND HATING THE SIN

Before we can love the sinner and hate the sin we need to understand:
(1) that there is a difference between the sin and the sinner, and
(2)that we must hate the sin, but unconditionally love and forgive the sinner.

- THE SIN is sex outside of God's commands and plan for marriage between one man and one woman for life.Once again, God’s plan is for SACRED SEX which touches the soul. Sacred sex provides a deep connection and lasting joy within couples committed, in and through faith, to love and obey God.

- THE SINNER whose desire is to love and obey God is loved and forgiven by God and needs to be loved and forgiven by us. It is extremely important, however, that the sinner realize why we hate the sin, and that is, because we love God and the sinner and that love compels us to condemn the sin, so the sinner will be saved.

Hating the sin means or requires holding the homosexual sinner firmly accountable for fleeing sin and temptation, just as God holds all people accountable to flee sin and turn from evil:

If My people...turn from their wicked ways..I...will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
"Turn from evil and do good."Psalm 34:14
"Flee sexual immorality.." 1 Corinthians 6:18.
...flee from idolatry." 1 Corinthians 10:14
"Flee the evil desires of youth,..." 2 Timothy 2:22
and, God promises that when we do flee, when we resist temptation, and turn from evil, the devil will flee from us (James 4:7) and God, our God will bless us (James 1:12).

Before we can HATE THE SIN AND LOVE THE SINNER
we need to KNOW THE TRUTH:

The truth is that the practice of homosexuality is a SIN which separates us from God and, thereby, from salvation: ”Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God..... Neither the sexually immoral.....nor homosexual offenders,.... will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Understanding this critical truth is a matter of life and death. “The wages of sin is death, but, the gift of God is eternal life...” Romans 6:23.

1 Corinthians 6:11 goes on to explain the position of the repentant SINNER, standing in God's grace: “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God..” Romans 3:28 reiterates: “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law (obedience). Therefore we can be sure that change or escape is possible(“that is what some of you were”), but, not from anything we do, rather change comes from within, in and through our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. While the SIN of homosexuality separates from God and salvation, the blood of Christ forgives and saves the SINNER.
