Tasteless Revenge
Chapter 8
By Kefka (Dan Vincent(onewinged@yahoo.com))

"Aw... DAMNIT!%^#(" The denizens were struck with horror as they watched what proceeded before them. The sky began to turn blood red. Oceans and lakes begin to turn from a cozy blue to a sickly, blackish-red color. The ground began to change too. It changed to a yellowish, almost desertlike sand color. Then, the worst of it all happened. The land began to separate. The masses, islands, and continents began to rip apart. If one took a map of the world after Kefka destroyed it, it was pretty much a mirror image.

Fortunately, our heroes (and heroines) were in the Highwind flying around. If not for that, they would have been ripped to shreds, for the area they were inhabiting was torn apart. All of the towns were intact, but were pretty much moved around. The northern cave was ripped apart, and untold evils erupted. Some never known, some others thought to be destroyed. Evils patrolled the skies, and Cid's mastery of Highwind Battle Tactics deployed missiles when necessary

Similarly, Junon was transported to somewhere not that nice. Reeve was scared out of his mind. Sitting in a chair, watching the ruined earth float before you is NOT a pleasant sight. When he was planted down, it was on some small island, with a desert and a small coast. From the distance, he saw Kefka's tower, now even larger than before. All the debris from the change had compiled on to the already large tower. In his tower, Kefka giggled with glee.

"Oh, joy! Now I have my ideal place of living. Now to get some more slaves... err workers! Hmm... how do I do that... let's see... a few plans... SLAVE!" After Kefka let out that bellow, Nate ran towards him. After the Tellah incident, Kefka felt Nate couldn't be trusted. So he used some creative imagery. By intimidating Nate, using a self destruct bomb on his belt, and some mind tricks, Nate beckons to Kefka's call.

"Let's see... how shall we destroy everything? The light of judgement is too easy. Must take it at a comfortable pace. Ah! I nearly forgot," Kefka took out a small clicker thingy, and clicked it on. A projected image of Sephiroth Red appeared. "Aren't holograms fun?" Kefka stuck the emitter on Seph, and he was no longer restricted to the holofield. Seph walked over to Nate, and slapped him on the face. Nate turned, and clutched his face.

"Why you..." Kefka glared at Nate and he quickly shut up. "I think a great idea is to gather up all the children in the world...
augment them, make them turn against their parents, and then themselves. I love conspiracies and this whatnot." Kefka grinned an evil grin. "Send the fetcher!"

The fetcher was a small device with arms, and attached to it was a pair
of shackles. One could easily see how a number of these things can serve as
capturing devices. Kefka sent them out.

"No!!! Stop!!" Parents screamed as the fetcher took their children away. One by one they were plucked out. Even hiding them in houses and other places didn't work. The fetcher succeeded.

"NO!!!" The fetcher took Ramza away. Elena was running after it, and when she realized she couldn't catch it, she broke down and cried. Her blonde hair was matted down with tears, and she rose up. Her expression changed. It was an expression of anger. "Guys! Come here!" She barely made those words out into the radio. Soon, the Highwind touched down near her house. She called Reno, and he ran over quickly. They boarded the Highwind, and told their story. Tifa had a look of disgust on her face. Cloud and the others frowned. It wasn't right.

"This time, Kefka has gone too far! Destroying the world, and taking our one last hope: our children! We MUST end this madness," Reno spoke. The others nodded in agreement. Cid gathered everyone in the ready room.

"Here is the map of the world as we know it after Kefka's destruction," Cid took a chrome pointing stick, and slapped it against the map. "This, is Kefka's tower. I had my associates track down the current crop of cities and towns. Kefka's tower is here. We are here." Cid smacked the pointer on to where the Highwind was. "We need to storm Kefka's tower. The Highwind can attack from
the sky, while we get troops to storm inside. Any questions?"

"Yeah. Who will go inside the tower? Us?" Cloud asked. Cid sighed. "We will make two parties. One consisting of Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent. They shall find Kefka and dispose of him. Party two, Barret,  Yuffie, and Elena, will dispose of Kefka's weapons, and find the missing children. There. Now, we begin. Get organized, and return here the same time tomorrow." The group went off.

"Grr! I SAID incinerate that town!!" Kefka hollered at the top of the tower. The girl he was hollering at was tall, had blonde hair, and onyx eyes. She simply refused. "You people don't like to listen, do you? I take all of you in hopes of helping me, and you simply won't cooperate! I guess that little shot didn't do anything for your minds. Screw physical appearance. You're all a bunch
of seven year olds!" That remark threw the girl over the edge. Fortunately, Kefka chose her not to get the mind treatment. That was when they were... brainwashed... to a point. Kefka chose this one to be his personal... oh, it's too bad to say. No fun to have a bunch of mindless slaves, but to have a degree of control over them. This girl, however, he felt... different about. There was
something familiar about her. Couldn't quite put his finger on it...

She punched Kefka in the face. Kefka spun around, and fell on the floor. "OUCH!!! B...Blood??? You... you vicious BITCH!!! I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate you!" After Kefka got up from that rampage, he saw the girl was gone. "She isn't going to get that far. I guess we
have to do this.." Kefka thought. He took out a little remote emitter. He pressed a button. The fetcher proceeded to take the girl to the prison blocks. The fetcher captured the girl, and brought her to the prison blocks. The fetcher threw her in the cell. It locked the door, and sped off. The girl could hear sobs from the other cell. They sounded like a boy's, but more like a man's voice. From what the girl saw, this is where they kept the other children. But they were all mindless slaves to Kefka. None of them could have feelings with those slave crowns and mind implants.. who was this one...?

"Hello?" The girl asked. The sobs stopped.

"Hello? Man, It's been a long time since I Heard a real human's voice. That nut Kefka made me do some pretty bad things... I... I
don't think I can show my face again..." The voice stopped, and the sobs came again. "Y.. your voice... it sounds... so.. familiar..." The person said, with intermittent sniffles in the middle.

"My... name... is Ramza..." Ramza said.

"Ramza... I knew a kid named Ramza once... She was about seven years old... She was my.. best friend!!" Now the crying was uncontrollable. Something clicked in Ramza's mind. Suddenly, guards came by, and opened the adjacent cell, the one with the crying person. He stopped crying.

"All right, you're coming with us! Kefka has some tasks for you..." The burly guard ordered. The person was drawn out of the cell, and was pushed by Ramza's cell. Her eyes met with his eyes. The man stopped for a minute.

"Ramza... WAIT!!" The guards dragged him off, and Ramza's face was filled with horror. It couldn't be...

"All righty then. You ready to go?" Cid asked. The group nodded. The parties were organized, and they were ready for action. The Highwind touched down outside of Kefka's tower. The first group (Barret, Yuffie, Elena) got on the Gold Chocobos and proceeded towards the tower. They were to enter from the ground entrance, while the others dropped in from the air. Barret's group
proceeded inside the tower, and began the hunt. They disposed of guards when they had to.

Cloud's group parachuted down onto what was a chopper pad. They looked up, and saw Kefka's domain. It was going to be a long day.
