Let's Talk About Sex

Femme fatale, or should we say, fatality. LTAS is a film that's not worth talking about. Starring Troy Beyer, Randi Ingerman, Paget Brewster. Dir: Troy Beyer

There seems to be a relative 90s perspective that is female liberal akin. The groups are about bonding power between the sex that the world should hear roar, and cinema is increasingly promoting women independence, thanks to a sentimental makeshift on it with 1991's Thelma & Louise. Let's Talk About Sex is a film written/directed by lead actress Troy Beyer, and her comedic (far too inferior to be called witty), or in other definitions ludicrous, span on the femme generation is adult immaturity. It's supposed to shine through with tongue-in-cheek doing a lap dance on all them, ya know, conservative (in this case, normal) humans. But Sex is far from anything that will be appreciated by us humans.

Beyer is Jazz (there's already trite written all over this screenplay) who is a supposed advice columnist in journalism. She spawns the bright idea of a t.v. show called Girl Talk...a project in the making. But, let's not forget the plot that almost tries forcing us to have a good time - her friends Lena (Ingerman) and Michelle (Brewster) have their own perverse sexual drives to comfort (or inhibit) themselves with. Then - get ready - because of it Girl Talk is a project they all can enjoy! There also is even room for a lot (sometimes too many) absurd cracks about men; though some of the jokes are funny, we knew from the beginning this movie would explore that area of 'maybe women would be happier with just women' bit.

Let's Talk About Sex never really goes anywhere. Troy Beyer is good as an actress, but she has a lot to learn in directing and a hell of a lot to learn in screenwriting. There always seems to be less intensity when a lead distances themselves from the project by acting in the same jargon they direct. But even with a Coppola, Scorscese or Brooks this flop is nothing worth talking about.
