What is reality ?

to answer this question, think of a baseball game and the home team has a baserunner on third base who is sliding home trying to score....the play is close.....the home team sees safe ! but the visiting team sees out !........what is reality here ?

another analogy is a cup of water that is filled halfway...... is it half full or half empty ?

the answers to these questions depends on your point of view...if you are at one particular angle of viewpoint, that runner might appear to be either safe or out while someone at the opposite angle might see the opposite....

consider this, if 10 people are sitting at a round table and viewing an object placed in the center of the table.......
everyone sees something different at the same time
the angle of viewpoint determines what you see
so if each person were to take a picture of the object, there would be 10 different pictures

so reality has to be a personal perception, that what is true for one person isn't necessarilly true for another.....although our bodies are composed of the same elements, our perceptions as individuals are all different as stated above, due to our locale (position) and state of mind. An optimistic person would view the glass as half full while another may see it as half empty.

Are you your body ?

if you were in an accident and lost all of your limbs, would you be any less of a person ? Your abilities may have been impaired but you are still 100% a person, so therefor what are we then ? The sense one has of being is referrred to as consciousness, and this state of mind can be defined as a type of energy, which we all possess ....since this energy is of a non-physical nature, it cannot be destroyed as any material object so if the body is in an accident and perishes, this energy (the soul) leaves the body and goes someplace else.....if one were to experience an out-of-body episode, their consciousness leaves the body and you can actually view yourself !!

if one were to view life as a classroom of learning experiences, the series of events may follow a path whereby the individual sees himself as more than a material object and that all events lead him to see that everything happens for the good, and this experience allows him to see that his inner consciousness or energy is within all life and we can refer to it as God, as Jesus and many other prophets have said that God is within all life and as such can experience every single event in life as a witness because he is present in every situation......so if we view each other as being the same within, we know how to treat each other because it is simply a matter of seeing yourself in all of life (see the tree of knowledge)

Once you understand that everything in life is meant to make you learn that your creator is within you and all life you not only develop a respect for all life, but you learn to see yourself in all of it as the energy which is you is in all .......

read this verse

If we were having fun all day and enjoying ourselves without taking the time to think about who we are or how we got here, then a series of events will happen (for your own good) to make you start to see and understand these things... and while the next stage of existence is unknown to us now, one thing for sure is that it is all a mental state since we no longer have our bodies so it is safe to assume we are meant to prepare for the next stage of life which does not include our bodies.....

The greatest indicator of these changes occurs in relationships where misunderstanding leads to hurt and a feeling of separateness......any couple has many experiences that "test" one as to their understanding of themselves and relates back to their own perceptions of life, and as the saying goes " change your head and you change your world "..... see this poem

So what may appear to be a painful experience for one in a relationship, it is really for the good that one has to confront his inadequacies and insecurities for his own growth and understanding...... GETTING YOUR HEAD TOGETHER IS WORK ..... but with understanding life seems more enjoyable.....

everything is relative.....

which is larger, a car or a motorcycle ? ..if you compare a car with a motorcycle, you would say the that the car is larger but when compared to an airplane, the car is smaller so it can be said that everything is relative and must be compared to something else in order to determine its size.... there is great significance to this as it applies to problems as well as physical things....

when one thinks about their own problems, they may seem very large and unsolveable....however, if you compare your problems with someone who is near death or in critical condition, your problems seem small. As a matter of fact, if you compare your problems with those of a man who lived his whole life trying to help others only to find himself being crucified for those beliefs, your burdens have to seem small in comparison and when considering this you experience the healing powers of Jesus.....

ever think about your thoughts ?

when a thought comes into your head, is it yours ? .....where did it come from ? ....is that you ?...

we have the ability to conjure up any thought we want to, but how about all those other thoughts that keep popping up into your head ....these thoughts that we think are similar to electronic impulses and when we have a thought we send it out there to whomever it is directed to and that person receives it. This explains esp and mind reading, and is indicative of one giant mind of which we all share a part of.... as if we are all brothers and sisters and are connected together in a non physical way..... so when we receive negative thoughts or those that are not indicative of ourselves, just ignore them as if it were junk mail and do not identify with them....many people are burdened by these thought and identify with them as if they were responsible for them......just ignore them...

habits......

most everything you do and think is by habit...getting to know yourself is studying your habits and realizing which ones (thoughts in particular) that you automatically have and do not question...in many cases people have the same thoughts since childhood and never question them....
