cast:
Bela Lugosi, Dolores Fuller, Daniel Davis (Ed Wood), Lyle Talbot, Timothy Farrell, "Tommy" Haynes, Charles Crafts, Conrad Brooks, Henry Bederski, George Weiss
plot:
Sensational but sincere "docu-fantasy" about transvestism. Director Ed Wood stars (under the name Daniel Davis) as Glen, who can't decide how to tell his fiancée he wants to wear her clothes. Dizzying hodgepodge of stock footage, demented dream sequences, and heartfelt plea for tolerance linked by campy Lugosi narrating from haunted house. "Bevare!" Even more inept and hilarious than Wood's infamous Plan 9 From Outer Space. Also released as I Changed My Sex, I Led Two Lives, and He or She.

Crossroad Avenger: The Adventures of the Tucson Kid
written and directed by E.W.
cast:
Tom Keene, Tom Tyler, Lyle Talbot, Don Nagel, Harvey Dunn, Forbes Murray, Kenne Duncan, Bud Osborne, and Ed Wood, Jr
plot:

Boots

1954

Jailbait ( The Hidden Face )
produced and directed by E.W., screenplay E.W. and Alex Gordon
cast:
Timothy Farrell, Lyle Talbot, Steve Reeves, Herbert Rawlinson, Dolores Fuller, Clancey Malone,Theodora Thurman, Mona McKinnon, Conrad Brooks
plot:
Farrell leads young Malone into life of crime; when the law closes in, he forces Malone's plastic surgeon father to change his face. Misleadingly titled thriller is less inept than Wood's "classics," and thus less funny, but inspired teaming of Talbot and Reeves (in his first speaking part) as cops is good for a few giggles.

1955
Bride of the Monster ( Bride of the Atom )
written, directed and produced by E.W.
cast:
Bela Lugosi, Tor Johnson, Tony McCoy, Paul Marco, Loretta King, Harvey B. Dunne, George Becwar, Don Nagel, Bud Osborne, Dolores Fuller, Conrad Books
plot:
A dissipated Lugosi creates giant rubber octopus that terrorizes woodland stream. Huge Swedish wrestler Johnson provides added laughs as hulking manservant Lobo. Sequel: Night of the Ghouls.

1956
The Violent Years
screenplay by E.W.
cast:
Cast: Jean Moorehead, Barbara Weeks, Arthur Millan, Theresa Hancock, Joanne Cangi, Gloria Farr, Glen Corbett, Lee Cons tant, Stanford Jolley, Timothy Farrell, Bruno Metsa, Harry Keaton
plot:
This is a story of "girls gone wrong" which was a popular exploitation theme in the 1950's and later. There is a 1950's rape scene in this movie. The twist is that the girl gang rapes the innocent boy! Ed didn't direct this one so the film looks okay. Especially memorable is the leader of the gang unbuttoning her June Cleaver shirtwaist dress as she prepares to molest the victim. The song "So what." By the Industrial (at least then they were) band Ministry uses several samples from this film.

Plan 9 from Outer Space ( Grave Robbers from Outer Space )
written, directed and produced by E.W.
cast:
Tor Johnson, Vampira, Tom Keene, Gregory Walcott, Dudley Manlove, Mona McKinnon, Duke Moore, Joanna Lee, Bela Lugosi, John "Bunny" Breckenridge, Lyle Talbot, Criswell, Carl Anthony, Paul Marco, Norma McCarty, David DeMering, Bill Ash, Conrad Brooks, Gloria Dea, Ben Frommer, J. Edward Reynolds, Hugh Thomas, Tom Mason., Rev. Lyn Lemon, Don Davis, Karl Johnson, Dick Cheney, Edward D. Wood, Jr.
Plot:
Hailed as the worst movie ever made; certainly one of the funniest. Pompous aliens believe they can conquer Earth by resurrecting corpses from a San Fernando Valley cemetery. Lugosi died after two days' shooting in 1956; his remaining scenes were played by a taller, younger man holding a cape over his face! So mesmerizingly awful it actually improves (so to speak) with each viewing. And remember: it's all based on sworn testimony! Also known as Grave Robbers from Outer Space; followed by Revenge of the Dead.

1957
The Night the Banshee Cried
written, directed and produced by E.W.
Final Curtain
written, directed and produced by E.W.
cast:
Duke Moore, Dudley Manlove, Jenny Stevens
plot:
After the last performance of a horror play, the vampire star wanders in the empty theater, compelled by an unknown force to seek an unknown object.
notes: Final Curtain was the script Bela Lugosi was reading when he died.

1958
The Bride and the Beast
screenplay by E.W.
cast:
Charlotte Austin
plot:
The lead in this movie, Charlotte Austin, realizes, on her wedding night, that she was the queen of the gorillas in a previous life. Isn't that a great plot line? I am sure that Ed Wood read the story and really ran with it. Gorillas and sex in one story!

Night of the Ghouls ( Revenge of the Dead )
written, directed and produced by E.W.
cast:
Kenne Duncan, Duke Moore, Valda Hansen, Tor Johnson, John Carpenter, Paul Marco, Don Nagel, Jeannie Stevens, Bud Osborne Harvey B. Dunne, Thomas R. Mason, Marcelle Hemphill, Clay Stone, Margaret Mason, Henry Bederski, James La Maida, Tony Cardoza, John Gautieri, Karen Hairston, Karl Johnson, Leonard Barnes, Frank Barbarick, Francis Misitano, David De Mering, and Criswell.
plot:
Long-lost sequel to Bride of the Monster (and to a lesser extent, Plan 9 From Outer Space) doesn't reach the same heights of lunacy, but is still dreadful enough to tickle any bad-movie fan. "Ghosts" have been sighted in East L.A., so cops Moore and Marco are once more shoved into action; the trail leads to phony mystic Dr. Acula (Duncan, who really looks like he's in a trance). Criswell again narrates the proceedings, this time from a coffin. Sat unreleased for 23 years because Wood couldn't pay the lab bill! Retitled Night of the Ghouls.

1960
The Sinister Urge
written and directed by E.W.
cast:
Kenne Duncan, Duke Moore, Carl Anthony, Jean Fontaine, Dino Fantini, Jeanne Willardson, Ed Wood ( Danny ), Conrad Brooks
plot:
Dedicated cops Duncan and Moore set out to smash the "smut picture racket," which is run by a brassy blonde who writes with a four-foot quill pen. One of Wood's least-known works demonstrates with complete conviction how photos of plump women in their underwear are the principal cause of juvenile deliquency. Also known as The Young and the Immoral.

1961
Married Too Young
Screenplay by E.W. using the psuedonym Nathanial Tanchuck.
cast:
Harold Lloud, Jr., Jana Lund, George Cizar

1963
Shotgun Wedding
screenplay by E.W.
cast:
J. Pat O'Malley, William Schallert, Jenny Maxwell, Valerie Allen, Nan Patterson, Jack Searl.
plot:
Wood's screenplay is about love trouble for a shanty-boat family stuck in the same mud for 30 years. One member wants to marry a fugitive carnival girl who loves a phony preacher. His son is locked into a Romeo-and-Juliet situation with a cantakerous moonshiner's daughter.

1965
Orgy of the Dead
screenplay by E.W. from his novel; associate director
cast:
Criswell, Pat Barringer, Fawn Silver, William Bates, Louis Ojena, John Andrews, Rod Lindeman, John Bealy, Arlene Spooner, Coleen O'Brien, Barbara Norton, Mickey Jones, Nodejda Dobrev, Dene Starnes, Texas Starr, Bunny Glaser, Rene de Beau, Stepha nie Jones.
plot:
A young, middle class couple gets lost and winds up at judgment day. Here, with Criswell presiding, a whole bunch of strippers do their acts one after another. A werewolf and mummy show up too. Definetly worth a watch just for Criswell's dialogue.

1969
For Love or Money
adapted from E.W.'s novel "Sexecutives"

One Million AC/DC
screenplay by E.W. using the pseudonym Akdov Telmig.
cast:
Harvey Edmundt, Robin Glanz, Jaqueline Fox

Operation Redlight
screenplay by E.W. from his novel "Mama's Diary"
cast:
Ed Wood

Gun Runners
screenplay by E.W.

The Photographer ( The Love Feast )
screenplay by E.W.
cast:
Ed Wood, Linda Colpin
plot:
Mr Murphy, a nudie photographer, interviews an endless parade of women. A group of girls arrive who force Murphy into a dog collar on a chain to act as their slave. He is made to wear a baby doll nightie and women's shoes, and he submits to their fetishistic demands.

1970
Take It Out in Trade
written and directed by E.W.
cast:
Donna Stanley, Michael Donovan O'Donnell, Duke Moore, Ed Wood, Nona Carver, Casey Lorrain, Linda Colpin, Monica Gayle, Emily Gray, Donna Young, Lynn Harris, Andrea Rabins, James Kitchens, Hugh Talbert, Judith Koch Phyllis Stengel, Elaine Jarrett, Linda Spheres, Lou Ojena, Jack Harding, Herb Webber.
plot:
A private eye's search for the missing daughter of wealthy socilaites bears fruit when she turns up working in "Madame Penny's Thrill Establisment".
This film is not easy to find. Something Weird Video in Seattle, ((206)361 3759), distributes a reel of outtakes from "Take it Out in Trade," but not the actual movie. It is another nudie movie but is very different from "Orgy." Ed had been out of directing for ten years when he did this one. I have not seen it but Rudolph Grey reports that it has "psychodelic touches."

1971
Necromania
written, directed and edited by E.W.
cast:
Rene Bond, Ric Lutze, Marie Arnold, Ed Wood.
plot:
This is your basic soft core porn film but in the Ed Wood style. There is a sorceress in a spooky house giving out love potions to turn couples on. The movie originally had a few minutes of hardcore (real) sex but those were cut and no one knows where they are today. The movie made for about $7,000.00 and was filmed in a weekend by Ed in a pink babydoll outfit.

The Only House
written and directed by E.W.
The screenplay for this movie reads exactly as does the plot for Necromania, without the supernatural element. Both films are listed on Ed Wood's resume.

The Undergraduate
screenplay by E.W.

Class Reunion
screenplay by E.W. and A.C. Stephen
cast:
Rene Bond, Terri Johnson, Foreman Shane, Ric Lutze
plot:
Class Reunion is essentially one simulated sexual coupling after another with tidbits of Wood dialogue sandwiched in between. The high point of the film is Ric Lutze's dialogue at the conclusion: "It's the end of the year and you're so beautiful, your so beautiful and life is so wonderful. Maybe that's the reason...the only reason...well...there'll always be another class reunion".

1972
The Cocktail Hostesses
screenplay E.W. and A.C. Stephen
cast:
Rene Bond, Terri Johnson, Foreman Shane.

Dropout Wife
screenplay by E.W. and A.C. Stephen

Rene Bond, Terri Johnson, Foreman Shane, Ric Lutze and Candy Samples (also known as Mary Gavin)

Rene Bond, Foreman Shane, Sunny Boyd and Ed Wood ( As the sheriff and the character named "pops").

Sex Education Correspondence School
A series of 12 super 8 films, 20 min. each, written and directed by E.W. and Charles Anderson

1976
The Beach Bunnies

Foreman Shane, Wendy Cavanaugh, Rick Cassidy
