Rusty Hamer (1947-1990)
Rusty Williams, Make Room for Daddy/The Danny Thomas Show.
Shot himself to death January 18, 1990, with a .357 Magnum. He was 42.
His death, along with those of Tim Hovey and Trent Lehman, inspired Paul Petersen to found the child-actor advocacy group, A Minor Consideration, in 1991.
Post-acting career, held jobs with a messenger service, a retauraurant and Exxon Oil.
Reprised his Rusty Williams self for the 1970-71 sitcom, Make Room for Granddaddy.
Shot himself in the stomach with a .22 pistol in 1966, at age 19, following a hunting trip. The incident was ruled a "freak accident."
Became his family's main breadwinner following the 1953 death of his father. He was 6.
