After legendary screen career died in the mid-1940s, the woman who would be immortalized as a tasty non-alcoholic beverage became (a) a mother; (b) a divorcee (she split with first husband John Agar in 1949); (c) a remarried woman (she wed businessman Charles Black in 1950, subsequently becoming known as Shirley Temple Black); (d) a Republican nominee for Congress (she lost -- in 1967); (e) a United Nations delegate; (f) a breast cancer survivor (in 1972); (g) the U.S. Ambassador to Czechoslovakia (in 1989); and, (h) an author (the 1988 autobiography Child Star).
