Oatmeal Bread
(For a 1.5 lb. bread maker. This recipe comes from Sharon's co-worker, Marilyn.)
1 1/4 cups |
313 ml |
water |
2 tbsp |
30 ml |
butter or margarine |
1/2 cup |
125 ml |
oatmeal |
3 cups |
750 ml |
flour |
2 tbsp |
30 ml |
brown sugar |
1 tsp |
5 ml |
salt |
1 1/4 tsp |
6 - 7 ml |
bread machine yeast |
Add ingredients according to your machine instructions. For ours, the order would be:
water, butter, sugar, salt, flour, oats, yeast.Select white bread (normal)
cycle.
Notes:
This bread rises remarkably well for so little yeast. You may, however, find you
need to increase the yeast amount slightly.
Try using a little whole wheat flour - you may need to boost the yeast amount even more. |
