Mary, The Mother Of God

A reply to negative comments about Mary

Dear Person-who-does-not-understand-Mary,

How do you feel when somebody insults your mother?

Do you think insulting Mary, the mother of Jesus will be ignored by Him?

I have taken your comments and broken them out, so it would be easier for you to understand the answers.

COMMENT:

1. Mary was not perfect. She was just like the rest of us.

ANSWER:

1. [Luke 1:28] And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

[Heb 9:14.6] how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

We as believers in Jesus Christ, are purified and made PERFECT before God by:

a. the Blood of Christ. We have to do this by FAITH. Because, we are unable to actually touch His blood. The BLOOD OF JESUS was SHARED and flowed through Mary's veins from the moment JESUS was conceived in her womb. In the care and feeding of an infant, a mother cannot help but ingest bodily fluids as she takes care of her baby.

b. the presence of the Holy Spirit. I can find at least four (4) instances where Mary received the Holy Spirit. Mary came into direct contact with the Holy Spirit when Jesus was conceived in her womb. According to 1 Cor 6:17, once He has made contact, the Holy Spirit does not leave.

  1. Unless a person commits a mortal sin (1 John 5:16, 17; 1 Cor 6:9; Rev 21:8).
  2. ...or...[Gal 5:4.20] Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
  3. ...or...[Mark 3:29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. That is, if you say Jesus is evil, His works are of the devil, He is the devil, or that He is not the Christ.

c. the name of Jesus. [Rom 10:13.9] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How many times do you think Mary called for her boy. 100 times? 10,000 times? "Jesus, it's time for dinner!" I am being sarcastic, but I hope you get my point. Jesus name was ever on Mary's lips and in her heart. Such is the love of a mother for her children.

COMMENT:

2. She was a sinner and died just like everyone else.

ANSWER:

2. KJV - [Luke 1:28] And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Douay-Rheims Bible - [Luke 1:28] And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

[Luke 1:26] And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,

Now, think about this carefully, would an angel who stands before God and who is His messenger, be able to speak anything but the truth?

And the angel of God testifies: "full of grace, the Lord is with thee". A person full of GRACE is sinless. If the Lord is with you, you are free of sin.

[1Cor 6:17.5] But he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

[2Cor 3:17.8] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

COMMENT:

3. God picked her to bring Jesus into this world because she loved him.

ANSWER:

3. I will agree to this statement.

COMMENT:

4. She never was perfect and never will be.

ANSWER:

4. I find this insulting. I don't know who you have been listening to, but I think it is DANGEROUS to say anything derogatory about the mother of Jesus. And you can see, all that I say about Mary is straight out of scripture.

Remember:

[Mark 3:29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

How can Mary INTERCEDE for our sins?

[John 20:22.10] And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
[John 20:23] Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

INTERCEDE = PRAY

ANYONE (including Mary and all the saints) who believes in Jesus and has the Holy Spirit in his heart can forgive sins.

Isn't Mary dead?

[Mat 22:32.3] I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

ANYONE (including Mary and all the saints) who believes in Jesus and has the Holy Spirit in his heart are alive in Him FOREVER.

In Jesus name I can ask Mary and all the saints of the past and the present to INTERCEDE (pray) for me before God.

Finally, Jesus told us to:

[John 15:12] "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

How does Jesus love us?

  1. He forgives our sins
  2. He heals our bodies
  3. He INTERCEDES for us before God
  4. He suffered torture for the truth
  5. He feeds the hungry
  6. He clothes the naked
  7. He gives sight to the blind
  8. He testifies the gospel of God

By the commandment of Jesus, in His name, we - as believers in Him are COMMANDED to INTERCEDE for the sins of others. Simply look up "forgive one another" in any concordance. You find many places where this is said.

In the Love of Christ, Brother John (cheese sandwiches)
