How we are saved through a Life of Prayer:

1. People always find it difficult to find time to pray.

Most people feel they must get in the proper position, and get the words just right in their heads, before they go to pray. People in authority have conditioned people to think this way. But it does not need to be so.

2. Paul counsels us to pray without ceasing:

[Ephesians 6:18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

3. So, how do you pray on ALL occasions - ALL the time?

Like this:

Dear Heavenly Father, I want to open a continuous, never-ending prayer to you. I offer to you my entire life as a prayer. Lord God, this prayer is an open prayer - to remain open to you at all times for the rest of my life. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the Blood of the Lamb of God, and the most Holy name of Jesus, for the glory of God forever and ever, AMEN!!

4. In other words, you establish an open link with God.

A link which is always open and available. It is like calling God on the telephone and never hanging up. God is always there for us. Why not take advantage of His love and kindness?

5. We cannot keep any secrets from God.

He knows every last detail about us. To act, in certain situations, like He is not there, is foolish. Basically - He knows me better than I know me.

6. I need God all the time.

And as life goes on, the trials and tribulations make me cling to Him ever more desperately.

[Hebrews 4:16] Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

7. The Holy Spirit perfects our prayers.

He is the one who inspires us to pray in the first place. By turning our life into a prayer - we put ourselves into the sanctifying hand of the Spirit of God. So, if we become a prayer - He will perfect us!

[Romans 8:26, 27] In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

8. However, there are conditions to this.

For God to accept prayer:
  1. The prayer must be asked in the faith of God - doubt cancels the effectiveness of prayer.

    [Rom 14:23] But he who has doubts is condemned, if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

    [Mark 11:22] And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God.

    [Mark 11:23] Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

    [Mark 11:24] Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

  2. This is the 'wall' prayer cannot get through: judgment.

    [Mark 8:25] And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

  3. It must be asked humbly - proud and arrogant prayers are not even heard by God:

    [Job 35:12, 13] He does not answer when men cry out because of the arrogance of the wicked. Indeed, God does not listen to their empty plea; the Almighty pays no attention to it.

  4. It must be good - or - in His will:

    [Matthew 7:11] If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

9. If you want to offer your life as a prayer,

endeavor to maintain this life style: be faithful to God, thankful, forgiving, kind, humble, and good.

10. You may be saying: IMPOSSIBLE! But Jesus says:

[Mark 9:23] "`If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
