This was taken at the Lake Texoma Fly-in June, 1998. Nice turnout but unbearable heat!
This hand-hold helps a bunch when folding the wings.
The inboard edge is formed by a 'hardware store' gate handle riveted to the inside of the tip-bow tube. The tube is wrapped with cotton twine for a sure grip - a very nice touch!
The sides of this aileron horn cover is sheet aluminum.
